4 yearsSome guy called Jason rang me, had a strange accent and wanted to speak with my mum. I told him she’d been dead for years. Then I asked where he got my number from. He tried to get my name to be polite but I never gave it. When I asked who he worked for, he said something like Green, but I missed the rest. He said the call was about BT being taken over and that he was from the company handling it, trying to reach all BT shareholders, but then he said he'd talk to me instead. The bloke was quite polite though. I just ended the call. The number he called from was 0016316356091.JasonGreenBT4 yearsTried calling back but no answer, pretty sure it’s a scam.4 yearsThis number tried ringing me five times pretty quickly while I was out, so no chance to pick up. Yesterday, they called from the same digits asking some weird questions about shares, which felt really dodgy.4 years0016316356091 rang me with some strange foreign accent asking about shares or something. Could barely make out what they were saying. Didn’t give any info about themselves either. Very confusing call.4 yearsA guy called me, sounded kind of American, and wanted to talk to my husband, but he passed away back in 2014. Weirdly, he knew my grown daughter’s name too. He started talking about shares, so I just told him to send anything by post and then I ended the call.4 yearsFrom Hertfordshire. I got a call from a woman speaking with a thick accent, hard to catch what she said. She claimed a client was interested in purchasing shares my husband supposedly had. I told her I'm not comfortable discussing things over the phone and asked her to write in instead. She kept going on and asked for my email, but I didn’t share it. Her insistence seemed a bit dodgy to me. Eventually, after a few minutes, she gave up.Hertfordshire4 yearsGot a call from a woman I didn’t recognise.4 yearsGot a ring about my missus’s shares in Centrica. This bloke was after a promise to sell on behalf of his client, who apparently was keen to snag a majority stake - he already had 43%. He said they were offering really good prices for the smaller shareholders to make that happen. Anyway, I ended the chat there.Centrica4 yearsGot a call from a woman claiming it had to do with shares we supposedly hold with a company called Telefonica or something like that.Telephonica4 yearsGot a call from a woman claiming to be from the Chorus group, going on about my wife’s shares. Seriously, do they reckon a bloke always has to speak for his missus? Anyone who’s met her knows she’s more than capable of speaking up herself! That was the first sign something was off. Then, she struggled to get her words out properly and kept making me ask her to repeat everything. To top it off, it was some overseas cold call. Maybe I should just stop picking up these calls and find something proper to do with my time - like actually getting a job!Chorus Group4 yearsRandom number called but I just ignored it and let it ring out.Submit Your Own Report ((631) 635-6091)
