Got a call around midday while I was having lunch, some bloke saying I was owed money. He seemed to know all my personal info and gave me a claim number, 110044225566, and said his name was David Martin. Not too sure about that though, his accent was quite strong and didn’t sound very British. He said someone would ring me back soon, if they do, I’m definitely not answering.

Got a call earlier today from someone named Robin Wilson, definitely not from around here. Claimed to be from Claims Advisory Group, saying I'd been charged bank fees that no one ever mentioned. Sounds just like what others have shared here. I got an ID number and was told I'd hear back in about three days with details on the amount they'd send me by cheque. Didn’t ask for my bank info, but I did give my date of birth. I thanked him and said I’m eager to get that cheque. Mind you, I’m on the TPS with BT. How do these calls keep slipping through?!

Earlier today, my husband got a phone call from a bloke with a noticeable Asian accent. He claimed that the bank had paid us back some PPI, and that a solicitor named Mark Cooper would be in touch with a cheque. However, he said we first needed to purchase a £100 paysafecard to give to the solicitor. We went ahead and bought it, but nobody turned up. Then, at about 4.12pm, the same guy rang me and repeated the whole tale, and that’s when it clicked that something wasn’t right. I feel proper daft for falling for it!

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent who somehow already had my name and phone number, claiming he was from some claims company. When I asked for his company’s name, address, and the managing director’s name, he couldn’t give me any details. I told him my number’s unlisted and that I’m on the Telephone Preference Service. He just told me to carry on and report him to the police. Sadly, the TPS doesn’t really help with scam calls and the police probably won’t bother either. It’s pretty worrying how easily these scammers prey on vulnerable folks.

Got a call around 4:30 this afternoon, and when I picked up, there was a strange silence first. Then a lady with a strong Bangladeshi or Indian accent started talking, saying "Good day" but never said who she was or which company she was representing. She went on with something like "I’m just checking with you about..." which immediately made me suspicious - normally, they say where they’re calling from straight away. I cut her off and told her no thanks, I don’t know you and I’m not interested in chatting, then I hung up. GOODBYE.

Got a call earlier today from a bloke with a strong Indian accent claiming he was calling from the Ministry of Justice. I asked him where exactly he was based and why he was calling on a Saturday, which seemed odd. After a brief silence, he started going on about some overdue payments. I told him I work in town and kept pressing for an address, and he got really flustered. He kept asking for my bank details, so I asked him what account and which bank he meant. Then he switched to asking for my name and address. At that point, I lost it a bit and said something like, "Mate, don't try to scam people, it’s just not on." He hung up straight away.

Those scam calls from some Indian numbers are just a nightmare. If I were you, I’d grab a BT 8600 Advanced Call Blocker - it’s a lifesaver. Once I got it, those annoying calls never bothered me again. Honestly, it’s well worth it to avoid all that rubbish.

Had a couple of calls yesterday evening and another one early this morning around half ten. Luckily, I've got Guardian on my phone which blocks them, so I guess it's probably some other scammers having a go at me.

Twice now I’ve been phoned by that same number asking to talk to my mum about some bank stuff linked to her account. Mum’s 86 and has Dementia, so I told them straight up not to ring me again trying to reach her. When I asked if I could get the number of their mum or gran to sort it myself, they said those numbers were private. I wasn’t having it and told the caller - who sounded Asian - quite bluntly to bugger off. Then he had the nerve to say I was disrespectful and my ‘customer service’ was awful, and that I should watch my language. Well, that’s just peachy!

Got a call earlier today from someone named Sam Oxlade claiming to represent the UK Claims Advisory Group. What unsettled me was that he already had my full name, address, and even some financial details, only asked me to verify my date of birth. He said he’s sending out a cheque which supposedly has the approval of the High Justice Court, but I need to be able to go in person to the bank to cash it and had to tell him which bank I use. He also warned me that a quality control team would ring me soon, and he even gave me answers to questions they will ask. Honestly, I think this bloke should be stopped immediately. I’ve also flagged him to the real UK Claims Advisory Group since he’s pretending to work for them.
