apparently, hmrc claims there’s a lawsuit against you and an arrest warrant’s been made out in your name - case no is 01297. if you want to speak to your case officer just press 1 now.

It's such a dodgy scam and easy to fall for if you're not paying attention. I don't get how they manage to keep going when their number pops up on your phone. You'd think they could be tracked down pretty easily, right?

My nan got a call from this number 0014257889556, some woman calling herself Emily Brown from “HMRC”. She said there was some court case about £987 she supposedly owed. Then she told her to buy Amazon vouchers from Tesco to sort it out. They even gave her phone numbers for a local taxi company to get to Tesco! Nan was really upset by the whole thing, but luckily a family member just happened to drop by and spotted it was a scam before anything worse happened.

I got a call from some automated lady saying she was from HMRC, accusing me of some fraud and telling me there’s an arrest warrant out for me. Then she told me to press 1 to talk to an officer. I seriously don’t get how these scammers can’t be tracked down and stopped by the UK or US authorities (I'm guessing it's based in the US). HMRC or whoever should really step up and deal with this, it’s not just annoying, it’s a proper problem for everyone.

Just found out there’s apparently an arrest warrant for me from HMRC or something, can you believe that? Never got any letters or calls, so this is a total shock! Not sure what to do next. Anyone else been in this kind of mess before?

Got a call from an Indian woman saying I’d be arrested if I didn’t sort out the money owed. Sounded proper dodgy to me.

I got a call from a robotic woman’s voice claiming I was involved in some kind of HMRE fraud. It was really alarming but sounded so fake, like one of those scam calls. Quite unsettling honestly.

Got a robo-call today about an arrest warrant over some supposed unpaid tax debt. Very obvious scam if you ask me. It’s maddening that folks have to deal with these kind of scare tactics. Honestly, it’s downright illegal and should be stamped out.

I got a call from a woman, sounded Asian and maybe a robot, telling me I was accused of fraud by HMRC. It felt dodgy straight away, so I just ended the call without doing anything. I’m pretty sure HMRC would’ve sent a letter rather than ring me up out of the blue.

Had a call claiming to be HMRC, but it was definitely a scam. Don't trust these dodgy numbers!
