this number has called me three times now, and it's always the automated voice from HMRC. honestly, it's really frustrating. every time, i just end the call straight away. you'd think there'd be some way to block these calls - even if you know its a scam, getting told there’s an arrest warrant out for you is still pretty worrying.

On the 3rd of May I got a call that really threw me off, I kept wondering if it was my hubby tryin to reach me from overseas since he’s away for work. Then, yesterday, I got hit with three more calls. One was something about Virgin Media and our internet signal, but the number was blocked. Another one claimed to be about a free boiler swap from the government, someone called Alan Johnson, but again, no number shown. Really suspicious stuff.

So I got this recorded message from someone claiming to be from HMRC, telling me to hit button 1 to go on. When I did, the call just cut off. I ended up ignoring it since I’ve had loads of weird calls like this from overseas numbers while in the UK. Feels like harrassment and who knows if it’s safe. Proper dodgy stuff.

About five mins ago, got a call from someone saying they were with HMRC and that there's a lawsuit ready against me for avoiding tax. Proper stressful stuff.

On the 3rd of May 2018, at about 11:26 in the morning, I got a call from a recorded bloke pretending to be from HMRC. He said I was facing legal trouble and told me to press 1 to speak to the case officer.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from hmrc sayin i owed taxes and was about to get sued, they told me to press 1 to speak to someone. When i did, I ended up talking to a bloke with an indian accent who sounded like a total scammer. When i called him out for lying and being a cheat, he just hung straight up. Really unsettling experience.

Got a robo call claiming to be from HMRC, saying they'd been trying to reach me about a lawsuit and to press 1 to call back. This is the second time in a couple of months I've had this. I didn't bother calling back. It was a bit scary at first, but figured if it was really an issue, they'd have sent me an official letter by now.

Got a voicemail from someone saying they were from HM Revenue and Customs, telling me there’s a lawsuit coming up and I need to press 1 to speak to my case officer. Total rubbish, but I bet this kind of thing really scares older or more vulnerable folks.

I got a robocall from a woman’s voice saying HMRC is about to take legal action and to press 1 to talk to my caseworker. My elderly wife, who’s 96, ended up answering it and she’s now crying in the corner with her heart racing badly. Why don’t the authorities shut these scams down immediately when they get reported? It’s just cruel.
