I left a message on my BT answering machine after getting a call from this number. Thought I'd better look it up here before calling back. Good job I did! How come no one’s cracking down on these fraudsters? Makes you wonder if our phone companies are turning a blind eye and cashing in on this mess. It’s basically just legalised stealing. Definitely steer clear of this number at all costs.

Somebody just rang me and dropped the call straight away. Feels like they might be going after the older folks who might not be so careful. Bit worrying if that’s the case.

whenever theres that awkward silence and weird noises in the background before anyone actually talks, i just end up putting the phone down and looking up the number on here. sure enough!

Just got a call about 5 minutes back from someone asking to speak to the home owner. He was talking about some energy grant thing. When I asked how he found my number, he claimed it was from the UK homeowners list or something. I told him I don't take unsolicited calls so he was basically breaking the rules and then I ended the call. Sounded like he had a Caribbean accent, maybe. Pretty clear it was a scam.

Around 10:50 this morning, my house phone rang but there was complete silence when I answered.

Got a call from a woman with a foreign accent claiming she was from Virgin Media. She said my tv card was faulty and needed changing. She kept pushing me for my date of birth but I’m not the account owner, so I asked why that info was needed. She just kept insisting it was really important. Definitely a scam. Spoke with a proper Virgin Media rep today to check and the number I got from them was 001484447111444.
