My mum, who’s 88, got loads of calls from someone named John who had an accent and said he was from the energy company. These people are constantly bothering her - the phone rang like 14 times in just one day! It’s really bad what they’re doing.

Got a call from an unknown number, they seemed to have some personal info and kept asking for the owner of the property. I told them no one by that name lives here. The person on the other end had a really strange accent, sounded like they were offshore, and then just cut off the call before I could tell them to shove off.

They contacted us, pretending to be from the Department for Work and Pensions, and made some rather worrying threats about stopping our pension. Strangely enough, they mentioned us by name too.
