I received a call from someone claiming to be Michael Smith who contacted me from this number. He asserted he was with Microsoft and insisted that my computer was compromised, mentioning that I'd probably noticed it was running rather sluggishly of late. He identified himself as calling from Manchester in the UK. This struck me as a classic case of a computer fraud scam. He wanted me to delve into my computer files to uncover supposed error messages, which are often quite ordinary. The conversation took a turn when he urged me to visit a specific website and download a file to "fix" the issue. When I inquired how he obtained my phone number, he abruptly hung up, which only added to my suspicions.

I was hunting for some tips on how to put an end to these relentless phone calls, but all I encountered was a sea of fellow victims sharing their woes. Not particularly useful, to be honest. And as for the website itself, it’s absolutely plastered with ads from some boiler company, one of which happens to be behind these annoying calls! Can’t help but chuckle at the irony of it all.

We’ve signed up with the Telephone Preference Service, yet we continue to get these nuisance calls. Quite often, when I pick up, there's just silence on the line before it cuts off. It seems like they’re employing some kind of dialler system, but not having enough personnel on hand to respond properly. What a nuisance!

I'm utterly fed up with relentless calls from this number - it's been a complete deluge lately. We’ve taken to ignoring the phone entirely and letting the answering machine do the work, which allows us to check who's trying to get through. Not too long ago, it was all about boiler sales, and just yesterday, they were trying to entice me with a roof trade-in! Today, lo and behold, it’s back to the boilers again, and their opening line was, "With winter upon us," as if they’re completely oblivious to the fact that it's the 25th of May! Ridiculous, isn’t it?

Had quite the nuisance this morning with three back-to-back calls from a lady with a strong accent. When I expressed my difficulty in understanding her, she had the audacity to suggest that I should pay closer attention! After I told her where to go, she promptly ended the call. I’m absolutely fed up with these incessant interruptions-my first proper weekend off in six weeks has been thoroughly spoiled because of them. Not to mention, I’ve also received a couple of pitches about solar panels, one bizarre message about someone having arthritis, and a particularly alarming one claiming to be from some ‘credit investigation team.’ They went on about my past credit history and offering help with an IVA. Honestly, I just want these calls to stop!

I've been receiving daily phone calls from this number purporting to be related to Talk Talk internet services. I’m well aware this is a con, having already touched base with Talk Talk directly. It's always the same foreign woman on the line. Each time I yell at her, insisting that I recognise the scam and asking her to cease calling, yet she continues to bombard me with up to six calls in a single day. I'm utterly fed up with it!

I've gotten calls from this number like, what, seven times just over the past two days? Some guy with an Indian accent claimed he was from TalkTalk checking on my internet. When I told him I've already spoken to TalkTalk about these calls, he suddenly went quiet. It honestly feels like I'm being targeted or something. I'm pretty sure they might be able to get into your computer and see everything you've saved.

I've been receiving calls from this number daily for the past month. They always leave a recorded message on my voicemail claiming I’m eligible for a new boiler "as a homeowner," which is quite perplexing since I don’t own a home! After I managed to speak to someone and requested to be removed from their list, they abruptly hung up on me! This has to be against the law - I'm ex-directory for a reason!!!

I received a phone call from someone who identified himself as James, claiming to be representing The British Household Department. He launched into a barrage of questions, and when I hesitated to answer, he became quite hostile and menacing. Now, I'm being harassed with calls two or three times a day. I received a call from this number earlier today but didn’t pick up. Once the call ended, my phone was seemingly stuck on engaged mode, and it remained that way until I had the sense to power it off and back on. My bt8500 handset quietly blocks calls all on its own (no, you don’t have to have a bt landline for this) - anything listed as “no caller ID” or “overseas” gets filtered out unless I’ve saved the number in my contacts first. Since switching to this phone, the annoying calls I used to get a couple of times daily have disappeared completely. It keeps a record of all blocked numbers, and every now and then I go through them and report the dodgy ones.

I’ve been receiving pesky answerphone messages and calls from this number roughly every three weeks. It seems to be related to PPI claims, though the messages are rather muddled and cut short. My number is on the Telephone Preference Service, and I’m ex-directory, which makes this whole thing quite dubious-bordering on illegal, really. Whoever is behind this is clearly in the wrong, and I intend to take it up with my service provider.

Got a silent ring again, bit boring how they recycle numbers. Seems like a sneaky trick to dodge those ‘unknown caller’ filters, I reckon.

Got a call that seemed like it came from abroad, they said sm... something, but I couldn't catch the whole thing. It was one of those rubbish calls asking if I'd been in any accidents. Since I use call blocking, I was pretty shocked it went through. Told them to take me off their list and never call back. They just hung up right away.

I've activated the anonymous call rejection feature on my landline, yet it appears these pesky callers are still managing to bypass it by using spoofed numbers. Recently, I had one such nuisance leave a message regarding PPI on my voicemail. They offered the classic option to press 9 if I wanted them to stop calling - which, frankly, seems more likely to backfire or lead to absolutely nothing. What’s more baffling is that even if I were at home and answered the call, I wouldn't be able to engage with whoever was on the other end. It’s got me wondering if this is an even more elaborate scam than the usual PPI ruse.

I've just received a couple of calls from this number, and when I picked up, there was nothing but silence on the other end. How on earth are they obtaining my phone number? It really ought to be against the law for companies to share our details like this. I'm absolutely knackered by it all - no wonder so many folks are opting to ditch their landlines!

I received a couple of pre-recorded messages on my home phone earlier today. One said my usage was at £42.80, and then just two minutes later, another one popped up claiming it had jumped to £79.80. What’s going on with that? Am I going to be hit with charges just for listening to these messages?

I've received a couple of calls from this number today, each time they left a message with another number starting with 004477814********, claiming that I owe them a bill of £???. I've taken the liberty of blocking these numbers on my phone, so hopefully, I won't be pestered by them again.

Non-stop ringings at the most ridiculous hours! Last night it went off at 1 AM and hasn’t let up since. When I pick up, there’s just dead silence on the other end. I stumbled upon another forum where folks mentioned a bloke named Mark who supposedly informs the recipient about issues with their computer. Honestly, my only dilemma is being jolted awake at such a ghastly hour on a Monday!

I've been told by various sources online that this could be a nuisance caller. Fingers crossed I won't end up with any charges! Just now, I received yet another call-an automated voice chimed in, stating it was from number 00, and I simply hung up without a second thought. How does one go about reporting these bothersome calls, anyway? Who's the right person to notify about this annoyance?

Received a Paypal pin confirmation? Don't fret, it's probably not a scam call! If it lands in your inbox out of the blue, there's a good chance it’s merely a mistake made while inputting a phone number. Just a little mix-up, I reckon! :)

Received a cheeky call from 00123456789 on Saturday, 26th January 2013, precisely at one in the morning, and then had the pleasure of yet another ring at 2:50 this morning. Don't these individuals comprehend that some of us are actually trying to catch some sleep in the dead of night?

I received my initial call at 8:12 in the morning, and right after that, they rang me three more times, providing PIN codes with each attempt, which I ended up cutting off. It was rather disconcerting!

Received a rather unwelcome call this morning around 8 o'clock. An automated, robotic voice informed me that the call originated from a number starting with 0044, followed by a string of other digits, claiming I owed a hefty sum of £77.41. I promptly dialled 1471 and discovered the incoming number was 00123456789. I haven’t the foggiest who or what this pertains to. Is there any way we might put a stop to these infuriating nuisance calls?

Could someone kindly clarify the origin of that country call I received from a number starting with 'US'? It has me curious!

I got a phone call from this number earlier, but it was just a pre-recorded message. I didn’t quite catch what it was saying, but they mentioned a charge of £87. I’m completely in the dark about what this could possibly be related to.

I stumbled upon this number saved on my phone and it seems that someone from my household must have dialled it. I’m left scratching my head, though, as I have no clue why they called or who it might pertain to. It’s rather puzzling and a bit annoying, really!

The phone buzzed four times before falling silent. I had no intention of picking up, especially with a number that looked like that!

This evening, I received a rather peculiar voicemail on my home phone from this number. The caller referenced a mobile number that is certainly not familiar to me - certainly not one belonging to family or friends. After that, they rambled on in a way that I simply couldn't make out, and then they mentioned something about £63.21. Quite odd, if you ask me!

We've received a couple of phone calls back-to-back, both from someone speaking in rather garbled English. The first one mentioned a bill amounting to £43.00 or something along those lines. Then, the subsequent call claimed it was £73.00. I couldn't quite grasp what they were on about; it all seemed very strange indeed!

I received a rather strange automated message on my landline, something about £4.99. Honestly, I couldn't make heads or tails of it. I'm not keen on chatting with a machine, thank you very much!
