This bloke rang up my nan’s old landline and started quizzing about the age of her boiler, saying he was ringing about some grant for boiler replacements. Then he asked how he got the number and suddenly the call just dropped. What’s weird is he knew my name and asked for me straight away! I mean, how on earth do they get this info? Even my mates don’t know my gran’s landline number! I don’t get what they’re even after with this stuff.

I saw the number but didn’t pick up since it was unfamiliar.

Got a call from this number earlier, some guy with an Asian accent said he was from Openreach and warned me my internet would get cut off in an hour. Then, just as quick, he hung up. Bit suspicious if you ask me.

I got a call from a really rude bloke with a strong foreign accent warning me my broadband and phone line would be cut off in an hour by my provider. I told him it sounded like a total scam and a joke. He just snapped back “no, you just watch”. When I asked him to name my provider, he went silent and hung up on me.

I keep gettin these dead silent calls all the time. gonna report them to ofcom for sure.

I get calls at exactly 13:25 every day, but when I pick up, they just hang up right away! Also, what’s with the number having 13 digits? That seems odd to me.

I asked him why he's dialing up folks who've been on the TPS for over a month. Then he started asking about how old my boiler was and if I get any of those UK state benefits. Quite odd really.

I've been getting loads of calls where no ones there, all about some 'faulty' computer I've got. I just end up hanging up every time.

On Monday the 18th of July, just after 1pm, my phone buzzed a few times - maybe four rings - and then it just went dead before I could pick up. Really frustrating!

They were asking to speak with someone who lived in the house or a family member.

Someone kept ringing me non stop, asking about who owned the phone before me. They called me like 7 times in under 10 mins, it was so annoying.

By Macca, 5 minutes ago I’m absolutely inundated with the need to flag these dodgy numbers to everyone keeping tabs on these unsavoury characters online, including the TPS. Just earlier today, around 10:45 or so, my landline rang while I was in the shower. It's a right nuisance! This sort of thing is a regular occurrence. To add to my woes, I returned home at about 15:30 to find yet another suspicious call-likely from abroad. In both situations, I dashed to the phone only to discover that I couldn't return the first call as it said, “we cannot provide the caller’s number.” As for the second, a rather peculiar and likely international number, when I attempted to utilise the 1471 callback feature, it instructed me to hang up-what a farce! It’s maddening, as these pesky callers persist despite our requests to be taken off their lists. We’re ex-directory and registered with the TPS, which clearly means nothing. I'm truly disheartened with the TPS; I've even had to re-register all of our numbers, hoping to secure some better service, but these untrustworthy callers just keep coming.

Highly probable scammers. We received a call on our phone, picked it up, and were met with an eerie silence punctuated by odd calling sounds. When we tried to hang up, it seemed the line was stuck open. After a period of awkward silence, the caller finally spoke, sounding a bit dodgy about her own name before opting for “John”. She claimed to be representing Sky and asked us when we set up our Sky service through a dish. We pointed out that Sky would already have this information on file, which raised our suspicions. She then replied with a rather patronising “OK sir” and promptly hung up.

We recently received a call from this number. It turns out it was a man speaking with an accent from abroad. He had somehow obtained our name, an old address, and our email address. He claimed the reason for his call was to let us know that vehicle insurance premiums have decreased in our region. As soon as we told him we weren't interested in any further calls, he then asked us when would be a more convenient time for him to ring back. Quite cheeky, I must say!

I just received a call from 0012127773456, but there was no answer on the other end before they abruptly disconnected! It's so flipping annoying! To whoever is making these calls, do us all a favour and kindly refrain from contacting us again. Cheers!

Received a call around 8:30 in the evening, Swedish time. We answered, but there was nobody on the other end. Quite odd, really.

Hello there! Who might you be? You rang me today, on the 20th of July, around 5:12 PM. Please give me a ring back!

We received a call from this number and the voice on the other end definitely had a foreign accent. They seemed to know our name, but when we asked who was calling, there was a noticeable pause and they couldn't provide a clear answer. After a bit of back and forth, they finally mentioned a name, but it felt a bit shaky and uncertain. When we probed further about the company they represented, the line suddenly went dead. Quite peculiar indeed! We're based in California and have absolutely no idea about the origin of this number.

I’ve just received a call claiming that our computer has had files wiped due to our online activities. Oddly enough, I was surfing the web at that exact time! These chaps said they’d guide me on how to fix it. What a bunch of nonsense! Absolutely don’t trust these people!

I've been getting calls from this number around five times a day, trying to hock holiday deals. It's quite tiresome, to say the least!

I keep getting calls from this number, claiming to be from Microsoft support.

Well, this was an experience that struck me as akin to receiving a call from a cinema hotline.

I received a call from this number, but there was nothing but silence on the line. I decided to return the call, and an automated message greeted me, mentioning something about a movie telephone. Quite peculiar if you ask me!

I've been inundated with these annoying silent calls lately! At least one pops up daily, and some days even more than that. Initially, there were odd sounds, occasionally accompanied by an Indian voice, but now it’s just pure silence. I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this? Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated!
