Received a call from someone pretending to be Microsoft, trying to take control of my computer. Definitely a scammer.

got a call from some guy with a thick indian accent, sounded like he was working in one of those call centres. i honestly had to say ‘can you repeat that?’ coz not a single word made sense. he hung up before i could even ask if it was one of those microsoft scams, or maybe hmrc pretending to be official, or just some dodgy ambulance chasers. shame really, would’ve liked to find out what rubbish it was.

Had another dodgy call this afternoon, they knew my name and everything! The person on the line had an Asian accent. The first one came from 01589674563 but they claimed they were from the BT tech team and even gave me a different number, 01793596931. Seriously, is there no one out there trying to crack down on this nonsense?

I got a call from someone with awful English who was trying to tell me my Windows laptop - except I’m actually using a MacBook - was full of viruses and needed fixing.

I was left in utter silence for what felt like an eternity before they finally uttered "Goodbye" and promptly ended the call.

They just said "bye" and put the phone down!
