Strange number called me despite me having no connections in the US. I instantly suspected it was some scam and put a block on it. What stood out was the caller kept switching between private and visible ID. When it first came through as private, I hung up straight away. Then it called again but showed a number, so I ended that call too. After that, it rang on private once more, and I cut it off again. Finally, I blocked the visible number for good.

Got a call from this number three times, I didn’t answer any of them. When I checked, it said something about a debt collector from San Antonio.

Got a call from this number bright and early at 7am today. The lady on the other end jumped right into some nonsense about my server and computer having problems, talking ridiculously fast. I told her straight up it was a scam and hung up. Then she rang back and said there was no need to be rude. Hung up again. She tried calling one more time, so I told her to stop harassing me and not to call back. She actually asked me to spell ‘harassment’! Seriously, couldn’t believe it.

I keep unknown and international calls blocked as a rule, so when this number rang, it didn't get through. Seems they tried their luck but got nowhere with me.

Got a call, no one spoke, just silence. Definitely sounded like a scam.

My home phone rang recently and when I picked up, there was this robotic voice warning me my internet would be cut off in a day unless I changed my IP address. It said to press 1 to reach their tech team. I didn’t even hang around, just quickly ended the call 'cause it seemed fishy. Then I used “who called me” to check it out. Honestly, I’m relieved there’s finally some action against these annoying calls.

Just got a robocall warning me my router’s IP got compromised or something. Total scam, best to just block and forget about it - another annoying nuisance!

Got a robocall telling me my IP address was at risk. Sounded dodgy right away. The guy claimed he was from BT and somewhere in London, dropped a postcode I didn’t bother checking. When I asked for my IP, he said he couldn’t tell me because of “security reasons.” Then he started rambling about hackers. Didn’t hang about, just ended the call. Definitely a scam, watch out!

I was out when I got a call from some sketchy number with loads of digits - looked either like a fake caller ID or maybe from abroad. I could hear some call centre noise in the background, then when I checked my answerphone, there were two blokes having a chat. One said he’d been pulling this scam for 11 years! How is that even possible? With all the tech nowadays, you'd think there’d be way better ways to stop them stealing our info or hacking it. We’re ex-directory and on the TPS, but honestly, it feels pointless. As usual, I’ve reported it to Action Fraud as phishing!

Got another call today, but this time from a totally different number: 01827703500. I kinda recognised the voice - man with a weird accent, claimed he was John from some benefits office in the UK or something. When I asked why he was calling, he said it was about finding the most popular branch. I asked, “Most popular branch of what?” and suddenly he didn’t want me to answer anymore. Feels really dodgy to me. Same bloke, two different numbers on one day, working for some fake agency, asking me to answer personal questions. Honestly, my advice is steer well clear of this!

This number called me a few times, and when I picked up, there was complete silence. I ended up just hanging up, and from what I’ve heard, it’s probably some sort of scam.

I think this number could be from the US, although there's a chance it's just spoofed. Anyway, BT has it listed on their blacklist and their free Call Protect service blocks it automatically. If you can manage to get that service, I'd recommend doing so - it’ll save you heaps of hassle.

They called a couple times, finally I picked up and said hello twice but all I could hear was some weird static noise in the back. They just stayed silent and then hung up after around 20 seconds. Honestly, I reckon they’re hoping for certain folks to answer, like older ladies or something, so it’s easier for them to pull off scams.

got a call from this number today but it was just silent. these scam people never seem to hang up, so i just leave them on the line and make em pay for it. once i kept one waiting for like 25 minutes! ridiculous!

I got a call from a woman who sounded Asian, but her accent was really thick and hard to understand. Also, there was this loud noise in the background that made it impossible to hear properly. I just ended the call straight away.

0012103010001 - Took a few rings to pick up and then the call just dropped straight away. Same as someone else said before, I quickly hung up, dialled 1471 to see who called, and then looked up the number here. Learned my lesson now not to talk to them at all, just end the call. If they claim to be from a well known company and I’m not sure, I ring that company myself to confirm. Honestly, like someone else pointed out, it’s ridiculous the authorities allow these fake numbers to keep popping up.

Got a call around 10.30am, tried ringing back but no answer at all. Their voicemail was on but they didn’t leave any message. Definitely felt like one of those scam calls.

Lately, I've been getting loads of calls where no one's saying a thing. Now, if I don’t hear anything straight away, I just hang up and ring 1471 to find out who called. After that, I use this site to look up the number. I’ve looked up numbers from both the UK and US, and quite a few times the number doesn’t even seem real. Honestly, it’s baffling how the authorities haven’t sorted out these fake numbers yet.

12103010001 - kept hearing loads of background noise like a call centre. An Asian bloke called saying he was from 'BT Openreach' and told me my broadband would get disconnected in a few hours. I said alright, then he asked if I was the one who pays the bill (I was at work so said no). After that, he just went quiet and then hung up on me.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from BT Openreach, it was an Asian woman who said her name was Jane. She kept saying my internet was slow and there were loads of people chatting loudly in the background. She went over the same spiel a couple of times before just hanging up. Totally a scam!

As a Payzone retailer, I got a call from a lady claiming to be from Neosurf. She said there was some issue with the service download and asked me to print out a £50 phone voucher. I quickly told her off and ended the call. The delay on the line made it clear it was an international call, and her accent sounded like it was from somewhere like Sri Lanka, I reckon.

Got a call this morning from a guy named Daniel, claiming to be from BT Openreach. Since I’m not with BT, I just ended the call straight away. I’d say it's safer not to mention who you get your internet or phone service from. Maybe that’s why he said Openreach - since they work with all the providers. I was sure if there was any problem, my actual provider would have reached out to me first. Actually, I had a similar call yesterday around 11am, but the number was hidden.

I kept getting calls from this number, and today a woman with a foreign accent rang me saying she was from BT.
