Got a couple of calls from this number, and it really shook my missus. The person claimed they were from BT and warned that our internet would be disconnected in an hour. I rang our provider straight away and they said everything was fine. The next time they rang, I called them out as scammers, and they just hung up on me.

I get calls from them at least two times daily. Lately, they just hang up on me without a word. Used to have a laugh and keep them on the line for like 20 minutes, but I reckon they’re starting to get fed up and want to turn the tables now.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent saying he was from BT’s “Technical Department”. I thought straight away it sounded dodgy, so I asked him to give me their address and phone number. I’ve had calls like this before where they gave a legit BT head office address but a phone number that actually belonged to some optician! This time, he told me the address by spelling it out slowly so I’d write it. The thing was, it was just a 4-letter word, which seemed really odd. Before I could say anything else, he just hung up on me!

Got three calls in just 30 minutes - gotta admit, they're pretty determined! They kept saying they were from BT Openreach and somehow had my exact name and address. They claimed my computer was running slow and offered to sort it out for me (as if, cheers!). I told them I wasn't falling for it and suggested they send me a letter since they already had all my info, but they weren’t pleased with that and insisted on accessing my computer immediately, like it was some kind of emergency. I just hung up, really fed up with these constant calls.

Some bloke claiming to be from BT Openreach’s tech team rang me up. When I asked him to verify my info, he just threw out a random name and the phone number he was ringing from. I told him I wasn’t the person he was after, and joked that it’d be simpler for him to send some malware via email to mess with my computer. That really set him off - he started yelling about my mum and called me all sorts of nasty names. If you’re up for a bit of a laugh at scammers’ expense, I wouldn’t block this number.

Over the past few weeks, we've had constant calls, mostly from an Asian man and woman, ringing us so many times, it’s crazy. BT and Openreach have both been told about it, and when we called Plusnet, they said there’s not much they can do. They want to charge £4 a month to attempt blocking, but apparently, they can’t even stop international calls. Feels like such a waste of money and effort.

I got called twice by a woman with an Asian accent, claiming to be from BT. She said my internet had loads of viruses and would be disconnected soon. I wasn’t buying it, so just as she started to explain more, I cut her off with a firm "No" and hung up. When she called back a couple of days later, I told her loudly that she wasn’t from BT and told her to stop calling me again.

I got a phone call from some bloke claiming to be from BT. First thing he wanted me to do was a speedtest, which I've done with BT a few times before. Then he told me to visit the 123fix website - I looked up some reviews and it seemed pretty suspicious, so I gave it a miss. After that, he asked me to use TeamViewer, but from what I read, it’s a tool that lets someone else control your computer. Naturally, I didn't agree to that either. He said he'd be ringing again tomorrow, so I’m curious to see what happens next!

Got a ring from an Asian bloke saying he was from BT. Claimed our internet was running slow and that they’d figured out a fix. Wanted me to open up my laptop or computer, but I told him I don’t have one since I’ve just moved in. He sounded a bit shocked and asked me again. After I said no the second time, he just cut the call. Pretty sure it was a scam!

Someone rang saying they were from BT Openreach, saying my broadband had an issue. Oddly, they knew my EE direct debit details and even the last four digits of my bank card. I made the mistake of installing an app called Teamviewer on my computer, but then I started feeling uneasy and stopped it all.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent claiming to be from BT Openreach. He said my internet had been slow recently, but I told him I didn’t buy it and said my connection was fine. He then asked me to switch on my computer, but I said no way and that I doubted he was really from BT. When he insisted he was, I just joked that I was actually Superman. That’s when he ended the call.

Totally feels like a dodgy call centre, I could make out loads of noise in the back but the caller didn’t actually say a word. This number, 0012068556747, isn’t from anywhere in the UK, and I’ve got no connections abroad anyway. Imagine if everyone who got these dodgy calls chipped in just a penny each - we’d easily get a proper pro to track them down and flood their phones with reverse pranks. Would be hilarious to see how they handle it!

Got a call from someone saying they were Dennis at BT Openreach, supposedly from their Philippines office. He claimed my internet was slow and asked me to run a speed test. I didn't follow through with it, but after I hung up, my internet cut out completely and I had to restart my router. Checked my phone base to confirm the call ended properly too. Turns out, BT Openreach doesn’t even have a department in the Philippines handling UK accounts. Just goes to show - scam and sc@m sound pretty darn alike for a reason!

I had a very similar experience where someone was trying to get me to open MSCONFIG. Luckily, I didn't follow through with it. I'm pretty sure their intention was to access my computer without permission.

For over a week now, I've been getting two calls a day from a guy with what sounds like an Asian accent, saying he's from BT Openreach and that there's an issue with my broadband router. When I told him BT had checked and said everything was fine, he just said he must have dialled the wrong number. Usually, if I answer without my specs on, I hang up straight away. It's pretty annoying having these calls every day, twice daily.

Had a call from a man with an Asian accent saying he was from BT, telling me there was an issue with my broadband - which there isn’t. For a laugh, I left him on hold with some classical tunes playing. When I came back to the phone after about five minutes, he started shouting all sorts of rude things at me. Pretty obvious scam if you ask me. I’m thinking of blocking the number, or maybe just keeping him on hold with some more music and wasting his time a bit more.

i got a call from a guy with a really strong asian accent saying he was from openreach and that my internet had been acting up lately. i told him straight away i didn’t think he was really from openreach and that my internet was working fine. he then asked if i was a technician, which i said no. after that, he asked how i could be so sure there’s no issue if i’m not a tech and if i wanted him to fix it. i told him no thanks and ended the call. would say more but this box won’t let me type any more.

This number 0012068556747 keeps ringing me daily, claiming there's an issue with my internet. They ask if I even use the internet first, and when I said no I wasn’t convinced they were legit. The person then promised to give me an ID but after mumbling for like 10 minutes in a thick accent, never actually gave it. They tried to get me to let them access my computer remotely, which I flat out refused and ended the call. Does anyone know how to make these calls stop? They're stressing me out for no good reason. Has anyone else had calls from this number pretending to be from BT Openreach?
