the woman on the phone had a bit of an accent. she already had my full name, initials, and even my address including the postcode. she was going on about some call blocking service and said her firm could reactivate it. i told her straight up that she might be a scammer pretending to help. i asked her the company’s name two times and the second time, she just hung up. right after that, i dialled 1572 and blocked the number. turns out the call came from the us and yep, it was definitely a scam.

Yesterday afternoon, I got a call from someone named “John Reed” speaking with a very posh English accent, claiming he was from O2. He was asking for my son by name. I told him my son was out working, which seemed to annoy him quite a bit as he insisted he needed to talk to him urgently. He said he’d ring back today, so I’m still waiting on that. Later, I checked with my son who doesn’t even live here and has never had any O2 account! The whole thing felt like harassment to me and I strongly suspect it was some kind of scam.

Received a call from 001132037495 roughly 40 mins back, all they did was say ‘hello’ then ended the call. Went ahead and blocked the number straight away.

this bloke called saying he was with the phone company. he started going on about upgrading my call blocker and how there’s a lot of scam calls going round. when he tried to pass me over to another number i just hung up straight away.

Got calls nonstop, they even had my last name and postcode. Just as they were about to put me through, I told George I was busy and to ring me later.

This was the third time they’ve called, so I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now.

I got a call where they said they’d put an end to these annoying calls, they even knew my last name and where I live. Just when they were going to pass me over, I told the bloke George I was tied up and to ring later.
