The General Manager, Apu Nandy, even claims on his LinkedIn that he supports: CIVIL RIGHTS, social justice, Education and HUMAN RIGHTS. Funny how it seems to ignore our right to say NO MORE ANNOYING CALLS.

Some bloke rang me wanting me to answer three questions, number showed up as 001441740020597. I said I’m a consultant and if he wanted valuable questions answered, he’d better give me an order number first. Then he just hung up on me. Funny thing, I used BT 1471 to check the caller and the voice read the zeros like they were “A”s or something.

Got another call from UK Preference again, honestly starting to get really fed up with it, happens like 2 or 3 times daily. I told him I couldn’t because there were builders banging about in the house. He kept pressing, even though I said nicely I really can’t chat now! Definitely prefer the UK calls over those endless ones from Indian call centres. They keep ringing from all sorts of numbers. Whenever I tell them to delete my info, they just cut off the call straight away. It's a quick fix to stop them, but honestly, their complete ignorance of data protection laws is super annoying.

Got a call from these lot earlier, asking for someone else entirely. Sounded like an Indian call centre, with the accent and all the noise in the background. They'd rung quite a few times before, so I tried to find out what they wanted. They wanted to ask me some questions, so I agreed out of sheer curiosity. First thing they asked was my name. Like others, they won't say what company they’re from, which makes me think it’s some kind of marketing or data scam. Couple of times they’ve even been rude on the phone. 01283 574444 is a Burton-On-Trent number. I’ve had loads of calls from this "UK Preference" outfit. Some guy, who sounded Asian, called and started by asking for my name, then tried to fire three questions at me. I cut him off and asked what the call was about, but he dodged the question. When I told him to take me off their list, he switched to calling me all sorts of nasty names - swear words I can’t even repeat. The abuse just kept coming. I eventually had to hang up. They change their number with nearly every ring. The newest one I've got is 0203 8364999. I reckon they're dialing from India, even though they use very English sounding names. They call so much now my call blocker is stuffed. TPS doesn't seem to help at all since they're outside the UK and not under our regulations. Surely there’s a solution to this mess. Hanging up on them straight away might work but it also blocks my line for a bit. Getting annoyed doesn’t seem to make any difference.

I asked her if it was a sales call and requested her to take my number off her list, and she told me to be quiet in a really rude way. I ended up just hanging up because I was so annoyed.

This is so annoying. I've got a call blocker set up and yet these calls keep slipping past it. How is that even possible?

Got calls 3 times today from a bloke with an Indian accent asking for some Mr Bowes, a name that means nothing to me. When I said I didn’t know him, he wouldn’t give up and kept pushing to speak to a manager. Managed to get through to the manager, but they too refused to accept "no" and in the end I just hung up.

Got a call around half past eight from a bloke named John, who said he was doing some market research. I told him I wasn’t interested and just went ahead and blocked the number straight away.

Just got called by this number like 3 times within 30 minutes today. Some lady with an Asian accent kept trying to ask me questions, but I told her I wasn’t interested and to stop calling. I bet they’ll ring back anyway, it’s just a matter of time.

Got a call at 8:10 in the morning from this number. I didn’t answer it since I’m fed up with all these unknown calls popping up - just too many dodgy ones lately.

Got a call today, 29th September 2015, around 6:15pm. The bloke said his name was John and claimed to be from something like UK Friends - I think that’s what he said. His accent sounded Asian or similar, and I had to ask him a few times which company he was with. Even after a few tries, he couldn’t get the name straight, so I just told him to buzz off.

I get calls from them nearly every day, like three or four times, and it's really annoying. Each time I tell them to remove my number, but they keep saying they’re unable to do that. I don’t understand why they won’t stop calling.

This number keeps calling me like 3 or 4 times every day, and I have no clue why since I’m on the TPS list. I always pick up just in case it’s one of my kids needing help. Does anyone know how to actually block these calls? It’s really annoying.

Calls are coming in pretty much all day, starting around 8.30 in the morning and then again late at night, sometimes as late as 8pm or beyond. They asked for my bank info, but I just ended the call straight away.

If you’ve got some spare time, a bit of fun is to just humour them instead of giving out your passcode, obviously avoid putting anything into your PC. You could say something like “Hold on a sec, someone’s knocking at the door,” or “My kid just tripped, give me a moment,” or even “The postman’s here with a parcel, just a moment.” Keep feeding them these little excuses until they eventually hang up. The downside is they might mark you as a waste of their time and never call again, which is a bit of a bummer. This bloke nailed it though, really entertaining stuff. I got three calls in one day from this number, all with really thick accents. The last caller said her name was Jessica, but I’m not convinced. She claimed to be from UK Preference and wanted me to answer three questions without explaining why. When I stopped playing along, she got quite rude! Told them straight up to never call me again and hung up.

They keep ringing me every couple of days wanting to know who had this number before me. I’ve explained loads of times it’s been mine since Feb 2015. Then he says, "Well, can you help me then? What’s your name?" Every single time I refuse to share any info and he just ends the call. This is proper annoying and feels like harassment, there really ought to be some law to stop this kind of thing.

Got a call from a bloke with a thick accent, kept asking for me but kept messing up my name and even my address. He said something about "UK Preference, just 3 quick questions then you might get a call or email after." I tried to find out where he grabbed my details from, and he said some publicly available database or something. I didn’t go any deeper, didn’t fancy giving away any info.

This number, 001004469, has rung me up about five times over the last four hours. The very first time they called, I told them I was tied up. Then they rang again at 10:27am, followed by calls at 12:18pm, 2:07pm, 2:24pm, and 2:27pm. When they called the second time, I mentioned I’d already spoken to them. For the third and fourth calls, I told them I was getting fed up with them ringing so much today. By the last call, I warned if they phoned me again, I’d have to report them. Hopefully, they’ll stop bugging me now.

Received a call around 09:38 this morning. There were some muffled voices in the background. The caller asked to speak to my wife, and when he queried if I was her, I simply informed him that I hadn’t undergone any sort of transformation. He then promptly disconnected the call. I've got no clue what he was trying to sell or find out. Quite the bizarre encounter, really!

In just one day, my dad who's 90, got called like 10 times by them. We've got a BT call blocker now so they can't actually talk to him, but the phone still rings once, which really irritates him.
