The General Manager, Apu Nandy, even claims on his LinkedIn that he supports: CIVIL RIGHTS, social justice, Education and HUMAN RIGHTS. Funny how it seems to ignore our right to say NO MORE ANNOYING CALLS.

Some bloke rang me wanting me to answer three questions, number showed up as 001441740020597. I said I’m a consultant and if he wanted valuable questions answered, he’d better give me an order number first. Then he just hung up on me. Funny thing, I used BT 1471 to check the caller and the voice read the zeros like they were “A”s or something.

Definitely prefer the UK calls over those endless ones from Indian call centres. They keep ringing from all sorts of numbers. Got a call from these lot earlier, asking for someone else entirely. Sounded like an Indian call centre, with the accent and all the noise in the background. They'd rung quite a few times before, so I tried to find out what they wanted. They wanted to ask me some questions, so I agreed out of sheer curiosity. First thing they asked was my name. 01283 574444 is a Burton-On-Trent number. I’ve had loads of calls from this "UK Preference" outfit. Some guy, who sounded Asian, called and started by asking for my name, then tried to fire three questions at me. I cut him off and asked what the call was about, but he dodged the question. When I told him to take me off their list, he switched to calling me all sorts of nasty names - swear words I can’t even repeat. The abuse just kept coming. I eventually had to hang up. They call so much now my call blocker is stuffed. TPS doesn't seem to help at all since they're outside the UK and not under our regulations. Surely there’s a solution to this mess. I had a rather unpleasant encounter with a caller who was quite disrespectful. When I inquired whether she was with a sales team and requested that she take my number off her list, her response was to tell me to be quiet! I found it all rather infuriating, so I promptly ended the call in sheer irritation.

It's quite the bother, isn't it? I've got a call blocker installed, yet these pesky calls manage to sneak through. How on earth does that happen?

Got calls 3 times today from a bloke with an Indian accent asking for some Mr Bowes, a name that means nothing to me. When I said I didn’t know him, he wouldn’t give up and kept pushing to speak to a manager. Managed to get through to the manager, but they too refused to accept "no" and in the end I just hung up.

I can't quite understand why I'm receiving calls from this number so early in the morning, especially considering that we're ex-directory and have a call blocker in place. It's rather perplexing, to say the least!

Got a call around half past eight from a bloke named John, who said he was doing some market research. I told him I wasn’t interested and just went ahead and blocked the number straight away.

Just got called by this number like 3 times within 30 minutes today. Some lady with an Asian accent kept trying to ask me questions, but I told her I wasn’t interested and to stop calling. I bet they’ll ring back anyway, it’s just a matter of time.

Got a call at 8:10 in the morning from this number. I didn’t answer it since I’m fed up with all these unknown calls popping up - just too many dodgy ones lately.

Received a call today, 29th September 2015, around 6:15 PM. A gentleman introduced himself as John, supposedly from something called UK Friends - or at least that’s what I gathered. He had a distinctly Asian accent, and after having to inquire three or four times about the organisation he claimed to represent, I still wasn’t quite clear on the name. In the end, I just asked him to refrain from continuing the conversation.

I get calls from them nearly every day, like three or four times, and it's really annoying. Each time I tell them to remove my number, but they keep saying they’re unable to do that. I don’t understand why they won’t stop calling.

I've been receiving calls from this number about three to four times daily, and I can't fathom the reason for them since I’m already on the Telephone Preference Service list. I always pick up, just in case it's one of my kids needing my help. Does anyone know how I can put an end to these annoying calls?

I've been receiving calls since as early as half eight in the morning, and they keep coming through every few hours, even as late as eight in the evening and beyond. They’re persistently asking for my bank details, but I’ve promptly hung up each time.

These callers seem to have no concept of time, bombarding me with calls morning, noon, and night. It's as if they believe 'no' is merely a suggestion rather than a clear refusal.

If you're in the mood for a bit of lighthearted mischief and have some spare time, why not play along with them? Just remember, under no circumstances should you enter their passcode on your computer. Instead, you can spin a little tale about how someone is at the door (I’ll be but a tick), your little one has taken a tumble (just a mo), or that the postman has popped by with a parcel (will be right back). Just keep the charade going until they eventually give up and drop the call. Sadly, you'll probably end up labelled as a time-waster, which means they may not bother getting back to you - a bit of a pity really. This chap certainly knows how to have a good laugh with them! I got three calls in one day from this number, all with really thick accents. The last caller said her name was Jessica, but I’m not convinced. She claimed to be from UK Preference and wanted me to answer three questions without explaining why. When I stopped playing along, she got quite rude! Told them straight up to never call me again and hung up.

They keep ringing me every couple of days wanting to know who had this number before me. I’ve explained loads of times it’s been mine since Feb 2015. Then he says, "Well, can you help me then? What’s your name?" Every single time I refuse to share any info and he just ends the call. This is proper annoying and feels like harassment, there really ought to be some law to stop this kind of thing.

Got a call from a bloke with a thick accent, kept asking for me but kept messing up my name and even my address. He said something about "UK Preference, just 3 quick questions then you might get a call or email after." I tried to find out where he grabbed my details from, and he said some publicly available database or something. I didn’t go any deeper, didn’t fancy giving away any info.

I've received a staggering five calls from the number 001004469 in the span of just four hours! The first time they rang was at 10:27am, and I politely told them I was occupied. Then, they tried reaching me again at 12:18pm, followed by 14:07pm, 14:24pm, and finally at 14:27pm. On the second call, I mentioned I had already spoken with them. By the time the third and fourth calls rolled in, I was fed up and pointed out their incessant ringing today. During the last call, I made it clear that another attempt would lead me to report them. Here’s hoping that’s put an end to their relentless hassle!

Received a call around 09:38 this morning. There were some muffled voices in the background. The caller asked to speak to my wife, and when he queried if I was her, I simply informed him that I hadn’t undergone any sort of transformation. He then promptly disconnected the call. I've got no clue what he was trying to sell or find out. Quite the bizarre encounter, really!

In the past day, my 90-year-old father has been harassed with ten calls from this number. We’ve now installed a BT call blocker to prevent them from reaching him, but the phone still rings once each time, which is terribly bothersome for him.
