I've just received a call from this number and had a rather perplexing conversation with three individuals. Their accents were quite thick, making it hard to grasp what they were saying. When they brought up the remote access to my computer, we requested their contact details, and unexpectedly, they hung up. Quite suspicious, if you ask me. Best, John

I’ve experienced something similar myself. I attempted to keep him talking, but he seemed baffled when I mentioned that the computer belonged to the company. Then he questioned my identity; I responded that I went by an alternate name. That seemed to throw him off completely, and he abruptly ended the call. What a numpty!

It appears that the Windows fraudsters are back in action! I just received a call from 001001696, and a rather pleasant chap by the name of Tom Smith (what a giggle!) informed me that my computer had been compromised. He offered to assist in rectifying the issue, but only if I permitted him to access my machine remotely. Fortunately, I’m clued up about these scams, so I played along for a bit! I managed to keep him on the line for three whole minutes before he realised I wasn't going to give him access and decided to end the call! For anyone who’s unfamiliar with this ruse, PLEASE don’t follow their instructions if you get such a call! They are definitely NOT FROM MICROSOFT!!!!

Got a call from a woman with a strong foreign accent. Couldn’t really understand what she was saying. Probably the same old story about problems with your computer, you know the drill.

Every time I answer the call, there’s just silence on the other end. No one speaks up at all.

Received a call from this number earlier today, but there was no one on the line when I answered. It just went silent after a moment. Quite puzzling, really!

I received a call from this number claiming there were issues with my Windows operating system. When I mentioned that I'm a software developer keen to understand the specific problem, they promptly ended the call. Since then, I've had repeated attempts to reach me from the same number, but it just leads to silence. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

Absolutely, this is clearly a fraudster attempting to swindle individuals by claiming there's an issue with their computer. I tuned in to what he was saying but he never mentioned any specific company he was supposedly affiliated with. In the past, when they’ve plagued our neighbourhood, they managed to trick an elderly person out of their savings. Best to steer clear of these untrustworthy lowlifes!

I've been getting a barrage of calls from this number, and whenever I pick up, the line goes silent. It's rather odd, to say the least!

I keep getting calls from this number, and every time I answer, there's just a click followed by the dial tone. It's quite puzzling, so I’ve taken to hanging up straight away.
