This number has phoned me a few times claiming to be from some kind of consumer group wanting to help stop annoying calls. They wanted me to complete a yes/no survey but when I agreed, the questions quickly turned into stuff about my age, home situation, and money. I refused to answer those as they seemed totally unnecessary. Does anyone know if this is a legit consumer data research group? To me, it just feels like a pest call.

I’m relieved to see others dealing with the same thing. They ring me multiple times every day. Twice I picked up and gave the same answer each time. After their survey, they ask if I’m okay with being contacted by “relevant partners” and if we can carry on. Both times I said no, I don’t want any follow-up calls at all. Then they start debating with me and it just goes round in circles. Eventually, they just cut me off right in the middle of me talking. No polite goodbye or apology for the interruption, which you'd expect if it was a proper call. Clearly they haven’t got the message because I’ve already had two more calls today!

I was a bit shocked I managed to get the number from 1471. The caller spoke with an Asian accent and was quite hard to understand. They never confirmed my identity or any personal info, yet I managed to keep the call going for around 9 minutes (had Test Match to listen to while waiting). I kept asking them to repeat what they said and kept saying I didn’t want to share any details, but they just kept on pressing. After a while, I heard a woman’s voice in the background, probably a supervisor, who must’ve told him to end the call because he hung up straight away!

I got a call from someone with a really bad connection, sounded like it was from India or somewhere abroad. They wanted me to do a survey but whenever I asked where they were calling from, they just wouldn’t say. Bit suspicious if you ask me.

Phoning about some survey and kept calling me by the wrong name. They just kept going on, saying things like "Sir, you won't get any more pointless calls after this one, only the useful ones." What a load of rubbish! Total timewasters. I just dragged the call out to annoy them and make their whole job seem even more pointless.

First, politely tell them to take you off their list, but don't expect them to do it. After that, start answering with as much rudeness as you can, swear at them and their family - it’ll really get under their skin. They’ll probably call more often, but if they hit more than 10 calls in a single week, you can get the number blocked. This usually gives you a break for a couple of months before it all starts up again.

This number has been ringing me nonstop. There was one day I counted up to 10 calls, starting early at 8:15 in the morning and the last one coming as late as 9 at night. I’ve actually stopped picking up my landline altogether for the past couple weeks. Most of the calls are from this same number. Sometimes it only rings once or twice, so even if I wanted to, I wouldn’t have time to answer. Other times it’ll ring fully then go to voicemail, but annoyingly no message is left, yet my phone still tells me I have voicemails waiting. It’s really frustrating!

Got a call from some "Consumer Survey" folks, sounded like an Indian call centre. I kept telling them over and over to take my name off their list, but they just didn’t seem to understand. Eventually, I just had to hang up.

Just had a marketing call earlier on and I ended up putting the phone down straight away. We're signed up with the TPS, so really shouldn't be getting calls like that.
