What a nuisance! Had yet another call from someone with an Indian accent, claiming to be from Windows. They’ve bothered me five times today already!

An individual contacted my mother-in-law, alleging that her computer was infested with illicit websites and that he intended to pay a visit to her home to remedy the situation. It baffles us how he acquired her phone number, given that she doesn't even engage with the internet aside from the occasional game of solitaire. After she promptly ended the call, the same chap rang her again just ten seconds later. Thankfully, her cousin answered this time and firmly instructed him to cease his calls or face the consequences of a police report, before hanging up. To this point, there have been no further calls from him. We must treat this issue with utmost seriousness; protecting our elderly women from such harassment is essential.

I recognised my partner’s last name when the caller claimed to be from Windows. They requested that I log onto my computer, but I turned them down. That’s when they promptly ended the call.

Two tactics you might consider: 1. You could assert that you’re not the individual they’re after, but offer to fetch them instead. Just casually place the phone down for about ten minutes- this is a splendid way to fritter away their time. 2. Alternatively, you could play along, feeding them inaccurate details while feigning a lack of intelligence to see how long they’ll stick around. 3. Another approach is to toss out some rather personal inquiries about their lives. If they seem put off, just gently remind them that they were the ones who dialled you first!

It's absolutely relentless - they just keep ringing even after I've told them to stop. I'm already registered on the Do Not Call list, so it's rather frustrating. Honestly, I just wish someone would put a stop to their antics!

It's utterly outrageous that there's no law prohibiting the manipulation of Caller ID names and numbers. It seems there’s a massive operation happening somewhere in India, yet the number flashing up on our screens claims to be from Midland, Michigan. It’s blatantly false! The reality lies in some wretched corner of India. If our sluggish politicians could be bothered to enact proper legislation, ensuring hefty fines and even jail time for PHONE COMPANY executives who allow scoundrels to masquerade as legitimate enterprises, perhaps we could finally see an end to this nonsense. The time we’ve all wasted adds up to a far greater loss for the economy than the money taken from those gullible enough to fall for these schemes. Let’s take action - get in touch with your MP!

I've received a total of nine calls since 12th December 2014. Each time, I've requested to be taken off their list. They claim to be from Windows Support. During the latest call, I insisted on speaking to a supervisor, only to be informed that the person on the line was the manager himself. I pressed for his name and a contact number; he said his name was David Ben and provided a number with a 770 area code. When I rang that number, I ended up speaking to someone at a house in Georgia. It's clear this is nothing but a scam from the outset, and I really hope there's a way to put an end to it. I've lodged a complaint with the DO NOT CALL registry, but I'm not holding my breath for any results. This is becoming rather tiresome!

I've received two calls from this number today on the 12th of March, and I chose not to pick up. Oddly enough, they also rang me twice the previous day. Is there any way that the authorities or maybe even the police could intervene and put a stop to these persistent callers?

These persistent nuisances are truly getting on my nerves! It's infuriating to have to trek all the way across my home just to deal with their pointless calls. Honestly, can they take a hint and just do one?

I can't take this any longer! They've rung me a staggering seven times today alone. Most of the time, it's just silence on the other end, but the last call was a different story. Some bloke claimed to be from Windows Support, and when I called him out for his nonsense, he just exploded with, "F___ YOU!!!" repeatedly. Is this really what I have to endure? It’s the same old dodgy calls coming from an array of numbers, and I'm restricted in how many I can block! Shouldn't I be able to enjoy some peace without having to fork out cash to prevent these nuisance calls?

I received a rather peculiar phone call from a gentleman who introduced himself as David, claiming to be based in London. His grasp of English was quite shaky, to say the least. Initially, he asserted he was representing the Windows Technical Centre but quickly backtracked when I mentioned Microsoft. The tale took another turn when he finally admitted he was indeed affiliated with them. When I found the call difficult to follow, he bluntly implied that my hearing was at fault! Upon confronting him about his dubious intentions and branding him a scam artist, he threatened to cancel my licence on the spot, warning that my computer would stop functioning immediately! Quite the entertaining interaction, I must say!

I received a call from this outfit claiming they had a report regarding my computer. I informed the lady that I was well aware this was a scam intended to fleece folks for their cash, and just like that, the line went silent.

I received a notification claiming that my computer is infected with a virus and it prompted me to press some keys on my keyboard to resolve the issue. I chose to ignore those instructions as I'm quite suspicious that they might be trying to remotely access my device.

Beware of a caller claiming to be from Windows who insists they need to access your computer to resolve an issue. This is nothing but a scam, and giving them control could lead to serious problems. Please don’t be tempted to go along with it!

This number has been ringing my landline incessantly, sometimes multiple times in a single day, for the last fortnight - often well before 8 o'clock in the morning. It's rather infuriating! When I finally answered, there was nothing but silence on the other end. Curiously, when I tried returning the call, I was met with a generic message stating that the number had either been disconnected or was out of service. One can only hope!

I absolutely plan to inform the authorities. Without a doubt, these individuals are running a scam. They asserted that they were from Windows technical support. When I inquired about the name of the company, the woman kept insisting they were Windows technical support. After my persistent questioning, she eventually just disconnected the call. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

I've received multiple calls from this lot-at least four that I can recall. It’s clearly some sort of ongoing phishing attempt, and you can tell by the Indian accents on the other end. I came across a comment where someone told the caller they had to fetch their phone from beside their computer, then just hung up and left the scene. Quite a clever tactic, if you ask me!

On the afternoon of Tuesday, February 12th, 2014, at around 4:24 p.m., I received a call from a lady with a strong Indian accent claiming to be representing Windows. I had a right giggle when I engaged with an Indian-accented caller from this number. When I firmly declined her request to gain entry to my computer, she shot back with a rather rude, "Go to Hell!" Honestly, I couldn't help but chuckle at the audacity!

I've had this number ring me three times over the past few days, even on Thanksgiving, of all times! A bloke with a heavy Indian accent introduces himself as "John," claiming to represent a computer company and insists that my computer is afflicted with a virus. I pointed out that I recognised it as a scam, which made him quite combative and exceedingly impolite. The next time he rang, I pressed him for his name, and he fumbled about, stuttering "uh, uhhh..." until he eventually blurted out that he was called "Obama." Once again, we ended up in a heated exchange, and I had to hang up on him due to his appalling manners. I tried getting the phone provider involved, but they refuse to block the number unless I pay for an account upgrade. What a hassle!
