It was one of those recorded messages, kept telling me to "hang up." Totally robotic.

About 4 o'clock in the afternoon, we received a call on our UK landline. When I picked up, all I heard was a clipped, robotic “Goodbye” - sounded like a British woman. The caller ID showed a number from Michigan, USA, or at least that’s what it claimed to be. We’ve been registered with the TPS for yonks, but the amount of these annoying cold calls we get is ridiculous - probably like fifteen times more than genuine ones. Honestly, I can’t say if this was a familiar nuisance or someone new ringing.

Just got a call a little while ago from a bloke claiming to be from B.T. and all that jazz. Honestly, what a load of nonsense. B.T. never actually calls folks out of the blue. I could barely catch what he was saying, mumbling the whole time. They’re so pushy, I can see how some might accidentally spill details they ought to keep private.
