I managed to keep them engaged for more than 10 minutes and pretended to be clueless the entire time. I successfully tricked them into falling for my scam.

Similarly to what others have suggested, I now disconnect the phone when it rings so that one of their telephone lines remains occupied and cannot be utilized until I reconnect it. This action incurs costs on their part. Lesley

I received a phone call from this number where the individual requested to speak to "the owner of the phone" and asserted that they were representing Microsoft. It is important to note that this call is a fraudulent scam. Beware! This is a scam.

I recently received a call from this number informing me about an issue with my computer. Interestingly, my response that I do not possess a computer at home elicited a rather unpleasant and inappropriate remark, as the individual on the line told me to go away.

How can I prevent receiving calls from yesterday?

I recently received a call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft. According to this individual, my computer was sending error messages. I explained that I was currently using my computer and had not encountered any issues. However, this person insisted that my computer was indeed causing problems. They requested me to turn on my computer so they could guide me through troubleshooting steps. Sensing that something was not right, I expressed my disbelief and frustration with their persistent disregard for my earlier statement about using the computer. I informed them that I would no longer continue the conversation and promptly ended the call. To my dismay, the individual responded rudely before hanging up. It was clearly an attempt to deceive me, but their efforts were in vain.

I had a good laugh with them when I told them that my computer was actually an Apple Mac, not a Microsoft one. Believe it or not, the lady called me an "insulting expletive", which was quite amusing.

Beware of this phone number as it is a fraudulent attempt to gain access to your computer. Scammers posing as representatives from Microsoft or Windows claim that there is a hidden virus lurking in your system. I contacted PC World and they confirmed that this is absolutely false. So, no matter how convincing it might sound, refrain from opening your computer or falling prey to their scheme. Stay safe!

This is a scam that must be avoided at all costs. Once you comply with their requests, they will proceed to place a password on your computer, rendering it unusable without payment of a hefty ransom. It is only after you have paid the demanded amount that they will disclose the password to regain access to your computer.

I have been dealing with these individuals for several months now, and they consistently hang up on me when I question them. In the past two days, I have received two more calls from them, and one person even had the audacity to argue with me. They claimed that I couldn't complain about serious computer issues because I was notified about it beforehand. However, even after repeatedly telling them that I don't even own a computer, they insisted that I did. It's clear that they are engaged in a major scam. The phone number they use to call me is 001 985 886-3628.

Earlier today, I received a phone call from a number claiming to be the Microsoft help centre. The person on the line informed me, to my surprise, that my computer had unknowingly been sending out viruses. They requested me to switch on my computer so they could remotely access my screen and demonstrate the source of the virus. When I expressed doubt in their legitimacy, stating that I would only be interested if they could provide proof of their identity, the caller abruptly responded with "If you don't trust me, I can't help you." In an effort to confirm their identity, I inquired about a method to verify who they claimed to be, causing them to abruptly end the call.
