I recently spoke to Vodafone about a text I received, offering me an additional 1 GB of data for a week, which is set to expire this evening. They assured me that there wouldn't be any fees associated with sending the message "DATA" to the premium number 97888.

I just got a message claiming I could nab myself 1 GB of data for a week, supposedly as a perk for being a Vodafone customer. So, I chatted with Vodafone's live support, and they confirmed that replying to the text would indeed get me the data. Now, it turns out it’s a premium rate text instead! Absolutely ludicrous. I'm reaching out to Vodafone to sort this out, but honestly, folks, be cautious - this smells like a scam.

I've just fallen victim to this situation. I’m currently with Vodafone, relying on their network. One would think they'd have measures in place to prevent calls from this number. Does anyone have a contact number for their customer service to lodge a complaint?

I had a word with Vodafone, and it turns out that it’s a premium-rate message that isn’t linked to them at all. I’d recommend blocking that number right away!

This is definitely a deceitful scheme! You’ll be charged £3.99 for every message you send. Steer clear and whatever you do, don’t respond!

What an absolute nuisance! Just received another one of those pesky spam messages. So tiresome, isn't it?

I’ve noticed that this number appears to be associated with Vodafone, as it’s listed on their UK site for those looking to boost their data allowance via text. Now, I’m not claiming to be an expert, but if it’s employed for that particular purpose, it stands to reason they might repurpose it for another use as well.

I got a call from someone sayin it was a survey from "hello from vodafone." I rang up Vodafone support to double check and they told me not to take part in it. Honestly, I'm not sure if it's a scam or if Vodafone's different departments aren't on the same page. My best bet is it’s some kind of marketing stunt that the tech team hasn't been briefed on, so I'd just ignore it.
