Got a call from someone claiming to be a sheikh saying we’d won £50,000. They gave us some sort of file and token number. Then told us to pop down to Barclays and pay £250 first to claim the prize. When we asked them to post the cheque to our address, the bloke just hung up. BEWARE, IT’S A COMPLETE SCAM, DO NOT FALL FOR IT!

Some scammer told me I’d won 25,000 euros from Lyca company and asked for tax money. They wanted 2100 euros so I sent it, then asked for another 675 euros. That’s when I got suspicious and asked around, everyone said it was a scam. I just wanna tell you all coz I lost money 'cos I didn’t understand. Please be careful and don’t send money to people like me did.

Got a couple of calls today telling my mum she’d won 50,000 rupees and to get in touch with Barclays right away. I told her it sounded dodgy, and the guy phoned again, got a bit snappy, so we just ended the call. The third time I picked up and said I’d go to Barclays but wanted to speak to the police first. Then he just cut off. I found this site and thought I’d share what happened. Didn’t catch his name, but the number was +923084845642. I’d definitely flag it as risky - feels like they’re trying to pressure people with this scam.

+92 316 7554149 I've had calls from this number about 5 times now. Just today at around 12:40, I got another call and the guy claimed he was some officer from Lyca's company. He told me I'd won a prize of £50,000 and gave me a reference number, asking me to check if it matched the one on my SIM card. He said he was calling from Dubai and insisted I SEND £250 for a transfer fee before I could get my £50,000. I refused, and then he just hung up on me.

Today I got a call from 00447480060043, and there were three different people talking to me. They said I’ve won £50k but first I need to send £400, £550, or £600 to someone called Sarfraz Muhammad Ameer. They told me I’d then get a cheque from Western Union and to go to my closest Barclays branch. They were speaking in Urdu and sounded like a scam. I didn’t send any money but they said they’d ring me back on Monday.

Some bloke with a thick accent kept swearing on his 'Allah Tallah' that I'd bagged £50,000 from the Lyca lottery, but had to stay on the line, hand over my mobile number, and pop down to the closest Barclays with some ID. Then he starts asking if I'd got any credit, like in hundreds, ready to put into a UAE account. Got a bit shifty when I asked why, then just cut me off. Proper scam trying to fund terrorists, I'd reckon.
