It was late on the 7th of April, around 10.54pm, when this number rang us while we were trying to sleep. The person on the other end wanted to speak to ‘Anthony’. When I replied that there’s no Anthony here and asked who they were, the bloke just hung up straight away! I did have a brother named Anthony, who spent years in the States. He battled a serious addiction to opioids; we actually had to fetch him from a hospital in LA and brought him home to the UK. Sadly, he kept getting hold of drugs illegally from overseas, and that way of life took him four years ago. Despite that, I still get calls from sketchy drug firms looking for him. I tell them he’s passed away, yet they keep phoning!
