The phone rang whilst we were peacefully asleep in bed on the evening of 7th April, just shy of 23:00. A chap on the other end was seeking ‘Anthony’. When I inquired who he was, he promptly hung up! My late brother Anthony had spent a considerable part of his life in the States, battling opioid addiction. Our family went to great lengths to bring him back to the UK from a hospital in Los Angeles, hoping to help him. Unfortunately, he carried on trying to score drugs illegally, and this ultimately led to his demise four years ago. It's truly infuriating - I still get calls from various unscrupulous drug dealers hunting for him. I always inform them of his passing, yet they continue to ring!
