There was this bloke with a thick accent who was trying to tell me my computer was infected with some kind of virus. I told him my PC was managed by a top IT firm, but he just wouldn’t listen. When I refused to provide any details, he swore at me and then slammed down the phone. Seriously, why isn’t there a way to stop these kinds of calls? It’s so frustrating!

This number has rang me before and it’s a well known scammer, but this time they didn’t pick up when I called back.

Got a call from someone claiming my computer was acting up. I could tell right away it was a scam, so I just played along - let them do their thing. When they told me to follow some steps, I pretended to comply. Then, when they asked what was on the screen, I told them flat out, "This call is a scam, and you should get reported." They ended up shouting some rude names at me. I just chuckled and said, "Cheers, mate, have a good one." If more people gave scammers a hard time like this, maybe they'd think twice before calling.

Just like lots of people have said, some bloke rings me up claiming he’s from Microsoft. Then he goes on about how my PC has a virus and asks me to let him use VPN to fix it. He’s really keen to sell me some antivirus software, saying it’s a must. When I mess around a bit and don’t take him seriously, he gets annoyed and suddenly ends the call. For sure, it’s a proper scam!

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent, saying there's something wrong with my computer. I told them I don’t even have a computer and asked them to stop ringing me. They ended up swearing at me and then just hung up. Quite rude!

They somehow get your name, then claim you’re struggling with your computer’s Windows system. If you mention you use a Mac instead, they switch and start talking about issues with Safari. It’s like they’ve got a script for every response!

So these callers actually know your name up front and then they’ll tell you there’s an issue with your Windows computer. But if you mention you use a Mac, they quickly switch to saying it’s a problem with Safari. It’s pretty obvious they’re just fishing for a way to sound legit.
