Blimey, I’ve just gone through the comments, and everyone seems to have such great tales, haha! I've put in an application to become a Canadian through one of those websites and forked out £15. Then, two days later, I get a call saying there are three stages to the process and I’d need to cough up an additional £1,834! Silly me, I ended up providing my card details, including the security code! I've since blocked my card, but now I'm getting hounded with calls - like five to seven times a day - demanding I pay up so they can proceed. Plus, I’m receiving emails from them too. And to top it off, they’ve even swiped £275 from my card via bluesnap.com! The email address of this lot is [email protected]... I’m at a complete loss, honestly. What on earth am I supposed to do about this?

I received a rather unsolicited automated call from a service based in New York. Apparently, they’re offering immigration visas for Canada, whether it's just for an individual or an entire family. They mentioned a hefty fee of about 600 dollars for their assistance. However, for anyone genuinely interested, I would highly recommend heading straight to the official Canadian government website where you can apply for absolutely nothing! Just another pesky scam lurking in the digital world, it seems.

On the 30th of March, 2017, just past midday at about 12:56, I got a rather peculiar phone call from this number. I answered with a simple 'hello', but to my astonishment, there was no response. After waiting a few moments in anticipation, a voice finally emerged, though before I could catch a word, the call abruptly cut off. What left me feeling quite unnerved was that I couldn’t put a name to the voice - it was entirely unfamiliar. Just an odd experience that had me feeling rather apprehensive about who could be on the other end!

Hello there, I've just received an identical call, this time from an automated voice claiming to be the Canadian immigration service. It prompted me to answer a few inquiries and then asked if I still had interest in the matter, instructing me to press 1 if that was the case. So, I obliged and was subsequently connected to a chap named Colin. He mentioned that I’d filled out some forms for a Canadian visa around 3-4 years ago and wanted to know if I was still keen on pursuing it. I explained to him that my circumstances have changed quite a bit since then-I’ve got a wife and a one-year-old little one now-so I really ought to consult with them first. He simply replied, “That’s fine, we can discuss it another time.” And that was the extent of it.
