That call wasn’t from National Grid at all, total scam.

Honestly, it’s not some kind of rip-off. The electric provider system lets others sell the electricity you use, and they all have their own prices. My last supplier through National Grid was asking for 15 cents per kilowatt hour, but this new one only wants 10 cents. So yeah, it’s legit. They send you paperwork through the post, and all they really need is your name and address to check against the electric company’s records. The forms from the new provider arrive in the mail and it switches up your electricity price.

Everyday around noon, sometime between 12 and half past, my phone rings from this number. Nobody actually ever says anything when I answer. It's pretty frustrating.

Back in May, I ended up blocking a number that showed up as "NOT IN USE". Pretty clear to me now that it was just some kind of scam. Total waste of time, those sorts of calls are dodgy as.

Got a call saying NYSEG was overcharging us since apparently they ain't a supplier, and some new law now says you must have one. They kept insisting NYSEG doesn't qualify as a supplier anymore.

I think it was some kind of dodgy scheme trying to get me to change my energy provider.
