I received a call from this number on the evening of Friday, 23rd September. According to my call records, it seems they’ve been attempting to reach me since June, with four prior calls. A chap, who spoke with an American accent, identified himself as Frank Dale from Healey Associates in New York. He was keen to talk to my wife, under the impression that she possessed shares in an American firm set to undergo a hostile takeover by Vodafone, who, he claimed, were willing to offer significantly more than the current market price for those shares. When I asked for more details, he was rather cagey and insisted on speaking to my wife instead, who wasn’t around at the time. I'm left scratching my head regarding the intent of this call, as the details about the shares he mentioned were completely off the mark. It felt more like an attempt to pry into our personal affairs.

I just received a phone call, and the bloke on the other end was inquiring about my Dad. When I mentioned that he had passed away almost five years back, the charming gentleman told me to shove off before abruptly ending the call. What a delightful individual!

I'm in the same boat, really. I received a phone call last night, 31/08/2022, from a charming lady with an Asian accent who spun quite a tale about some scrip dividend linked to shares I apparently got rid of long ago, either in IHG or IAG-honestly, I couldn’t quite catch what she was saying due to her accent. When I probed her about when the "scrip" was issued or what its "worth" might be, she couldn't provide any details. After engaging her in a chat about how scrip issues can dilute a company's share value-and mentioning my background as an accountant-she abruptly ended the call, promising to send me something official in writing. I'll be keen to see the letter, but I won't be holding my breath! 😉

Just received a call from 0019 146 766 202 this evening. The chap had a delightful Southeast Asian lilt and spun quite a convincing tale about some script dividend from a long-forgotten holding in C & W shares, now apparently linked to Vodafone Group plc. He claimed his client was gearing up for a hostile bid for Vodafone and already possessed half of the shares from corporate channels. They were keen on scooping up that elusive extra 1% from private investors like me. He mentioned that while Vodafone’s stock was trading at a pound, his client was prepared to dish out between £7 and £15 per share. It felt suspiciously good to be true... yet there was just enough of a ring of truth to ensnare my interest momentarily. A rather cunning ruse, if you ask me. I swiftly terminated the conversation when I mentioned I wasn't keen on parting with my Vodafone shares... which, by the way, I don't possess at all.

I received a call from 0019146766202, with the caller asserting they were from a firm supposedly acquiring BT and were keen to buy my shares. When I inquired about how they acquired my number, the woman claimed it was listed on the BT Holders register. I firmly told her I had no interest in discussing my shares, and just like that, she ended the conversation abruptly!

I've been getting calls from this number every single day. Once, I accidentally picked up and the person on the other end claimed to be calling on behalf of IAG regarding my late father's shares from nine years ago. Naturally, it raised my suspicions.

I received a phone call from someone who requested to speak to my husband, clearly stating his full name. When I mentioned that he wasn’t around, the caller, who spoke with an Indian accent, inquired if he was considering selling his BT shares. At that point, I decided to hang up. Since then, I’ve had two more calls that I suspect are from the same number. On the latest occasion, I chose to ignore it altogether.

I received a call regarding Carnival, but it seemed rather dubious. They were probing for information that I had already provided in writing. I ended up hanging up on them. I've since blocked the number, as I suspect it might be a scam.
