The caller offered her the choice of claiming the car or its cash equivalent, but then proceeded to ask for a payment of 20,000 INR to cover registration and taxes if she wanted the car. Alternatively, if she chose the cash option, he requested 15,000 INR for tax purposes. It was all rather dodgy, and we decided against pursuing any payment or further action, considering it a clear attempt at fraud.
