I didn’t pick up, but they left a message claiming there was a warrant out for me or something crazy like that. I rang them back to find out what was going on, and they pretended to be from the tax office. I asked them to clarify the issue, but when they realised I wasn’t an easy target, they just said I’d got the wrong number and hung up. Also, their accent sounded Middle Eastern or something. I’m really fed up with these annoying scammers.

I got a call from someone saying they worked for the government and that I had an arrest warrant out for me. They said I had two choices: either deal with a U.S. attorney right away or sort the whole issue by making payments to settle the claim. The person had a strong Arabic accent and kept insisting they were legit federal officers. Luckily, I wasn’t fooled. But I worry loads of people, especially those not so well off, fall for this kind of scam every day.
