When I told them no and wouldn't share any details, the woman started shouting at me. Honestly, these scammers seem pretty desperate. If you really owed something, I reckon they'd send a letter or call without hiding their number. Stay careful out there, everyone!

I've been getting calls from two different numbers, 905-968-0503 and 289-789-1107. The weird thing is, when I answer the first one, no one speaks, and then the other number calls asking for someone I have no clue about. It's really irritating and feels like harassment. So, these calls are from a debt collection firm named "ARO" - they’ve probably bought your outstanding debt from a government body or another company and are now trying to get their money back. They don’t hold back and tend to ring you up constantly, sometimes more than the law actually permits.

If they’re calling you repeatedly throughout the day, the best move is to file a complaint with the CRTC. From what I’ve heard, they’re allowed to phone up to about 9 times daily, but it’s worth confirming the precise rules on the CRTC site.

I keep getting calls like 4 times a day from this number 289 789 1107, always saying I owe money to some city I've never lived in. I've even rang up that city's office myself and they confirmed I don't owe anything. Usually, they ring me twice early in the morning, around 8am, and then again a couple of times later in the evening, about 5:45pm or so. It's really annoying.

They keep saying I owe money to some city I aint even in. I even rang the city they mentioned, and they told me I don’t owe them a penny. It's getting really annoying with all these calls.

These idiots ring me every day claiming they're from some aro thing and that I owe cash to the Quebec government. Like, I’m in Ontario, not Quebec! They seriously need to just quit it. I’m about ready to block their number for good.

Got a call from someone named "Aro" asking about some "financial issue" for my missus. Even though I told them I'm her legal representative, they wouldn't spill any info. The woman on the other end was absolutely rude, so I let her know exactly what I thought of her attitude and then blocked the number. If this number pops up for you, it’s just some horrible rep from a dodgy company. Best to ignore and block straight away.

For the past couple of months, this number has been ringing me up about three times daily asking for my partner. Every time, I tell them I'm his fiancé, but the woman on the other end is really disrespectful and won’t share any details. She claimed to be from ARO Inc., so I looked it up and found out it’s a debt collection company. The thing is, we don’t owe any money at all. Could someone please do something about this number? There are other numbers too linked to the same woman, like 1(289)789-1107 and 1(905)761-8847. Definitely scam calls!
