Since I’ve been pretty annoyed with Bell lately, I was actually interested when he started talking about cutting my bill down to $115 per month, including Canada-wide long distance and U.S. calls. The guy really went into a bunch of details. But as soon as he asked for my driver’s licence or SIN, my wife, who was nearby listening, got a bit worried and told me to check with her first. We know someone who got their identity stolen after their licence info got out, so we’re being cautious. Bottom line, the whole thing just felt off, so I told him I’d hang up and call Rogers direct. He kept ringing back a couple of times, but we just ignored him and eventually blocked the number. Just a heads-up, you can dial *67, wait for a few beeps, then enter the number to call anonymously.
