I received a rather unexpected call from the Disabled Veterans Foundation earlier today. They were inquiring about someone completely unrelated to me or my family. As the conversation wound down, the gentleman on the line abruptly shifted to asking, “So, would you like to make a donation?” His tone struck me as rather curt, almost as if he was saying, "I'm not keen on chatting, just tell me if you're interested or not." Quite an uncomfortable exchange, really!
