Rascals attempted to pull a fast one on me from this number... I promptly rang up Chase to let them know. I'm baffled as to how they even got hold of my number - perhaps they’re just firing off messages to anyone they can. Thankfully, their scheme fell flat on its face!

Out of curiosity, I called, but all I encountered was a robotic voice prompting me to provide my 16-digit card number to “unblock” it. I highly recommend that anyone who has an account with Chase should ring the official 1800 number printed on their card instead of handing over any sensitive information to strangers. Better safe than sorry!

Just a heads-up- it looks like this might be quite the dodgy setup, likely linked to some kind of animated transaction capture. After you input the 16 digits, you’re prompted to do it again (not to fret; I chucked in 0 x 16 as a test). If someone were to foolishly use their debit card, it wouldn't be surprising if they ended up getting charged around £24 each time, all in an effort to sidestep security protocols... perhaps to rack up rewards on something like Candy Crush, if you catch my drift.
