This number rang me up saying I’d been picked to celebrate the opening of some furniture shop and that I’d won two plane tickets somewhere. I just ended the call straight away. Then the woman rang back, claimed I thought she was selling something and was rude for hanging up. Next thing, she just ended the call herself. Feels like a total scam to me.

Since I had to ring the customer support of the top software firm in the US, the flood of these annoying calls began. I get about ten a day from different numbers like this one. Funny thing is, the support centre isn’t even in America - it’s in India. When I contacted them, they wanted both my main and backup phone numbers in case we lost the connection. Big mistake giving them out, even if it's supposed to be a reputable company! Since then, both my phones have been bombarded with junk calls. Makes me wonder if the support staff are passing our details to dodgy folks or something.
