Got a couple of calls the other day but my call screening app picked them up. When I tried calling back, I got told that the number isn’t active anymore.

Got a call on 30th June 2017 around 1:07 pm from a guy who said his name was Daniel, though his strong Asian accent made it hard to understand. He claimed he was from BT Internet. I told him straight away I didn’t trust him and that it sounded like a scam, asking for a contact number I could verify through the police. He gave me an 020 number, but I didn’t bother calling it. Instead, I dialled 1471 and got the actual number above. Definitely seemed dodgy to me.

Keep getting calls from someone claiming to be "BT". It's really annoying - they keep hassling me and won't stop, plus they’re pretty pushy about getting me to turn my computer on.

Got a call earlier from someone saying they were with BT, saying my router needed an update. Their accent was really thick, sounded Asian, and I struggled to get what they were saying. Told them I couldn’t follow because of the accent and would hang up. Then the person gave me some code, claiming it was my router’s ID. I ended the call right away. Later, I looked up the number and found out it’s a known scam. What puzzles me is how they even knew I had BT broadband in the first place, since I never mentioned it to them?

Got a call earlier from someone claiming to be with BT, asking me to look at my internet and Wi-Fi. They tried guiding me on which keys to press on my PC but I told them I wasn’t having any issues and just hung up. They rang me back around four more times but I ignored the calls. The caller said his name was Shaun, but his Caribbean type accent made it hard to understand what he was saying.

Got a call from someone saying he was a BT OpenReach bloke called James. Didn’t really buy it though.

They've rung me over a dozen times with the same dodgy story everyone else seems to get. Can't believe this number still isn't on block!

Just got a call like this from someone called Mr James, with an Asian accent. He said he was from BT Openreach or something similar. He left me a number to ring back, but I never bothered - figured it was a dodgy scam anyway.

Got two calls from this number, didn't pick up either time. After a couple of seconds all I heard was a quick goodbye. Proper annoying, to be honest!

This morning I got a call from this number claiming to be from BT Openreach. They said my internet was about to be cut off unless I let them fix it. I quickly worked out they wanted to get into my computer, so I just ended the call straight away.

So, I got this call earlier from someone claiming to be from BT Openreach. They said they needed to update some transmission codes at the exchange and wanted me to let them access my computer to fix my BT code. Then out of nowhere they brought up Microsoft, and when I asked what Microsoft had to do with BT, they just hung up on me. This number has rung me up a few times before, always with some different story, usually pretending to be Microsoft. They try to scare me by saying they'll block my computer if I don't follow their instructions. I’m no expert in tech stuff, but I’m not daft!

Got a call from some bloke called James Hunt today, kept ringing me a few times. Said he’s with BT Openreach and claimed they’d done stuff at the local exchange that messed up my router, and that it might get worse. I politely told him I wasn’t interested and then had a look online. Turns out it’s a total scam, he’s not with BT at all. Avoid these dodgy callers!

Today I got a call from this number, with someone saying they were from BT. I told them I only use an iPad. Then they asked if I could borrow a mate’s or neighbour’s computer so they could fix some issue. I just said I wasn’t having any trouble with my iPad and ended the call.

This number has rung me loads, like four times today and a couple times yesterday. I ignored the calls cos about a month ago, they got in touch pretending to be BT and warned me they’d cut my internet due to a virus on my PC. I stupidly gave them access to my laptop and ended up losing £17,000 from my bank. Seems like this scam is getting pretty common now, but thankfully the police’s Fraud Squad are on it. Don’t fall for these con artists!

Got a call earlier claiming to be from BT trying to 'take over' my phone or something, so I just ended it straight away. This same number has rung me twice more today, 26th April 2017, but I’m not answering again.
