I have recently received two phone calls that my call monitoring service intercepted. When I tried to call the same number back, I was informed that the number is no longer in service.

On 30th June 2017 at 13:07, I received a call from a person identifying themselves as Daniel, but they had a strong Asian accent. They claimed to be from BT Internet Service Provider. However, I expressed doubt and accused them of being involved in a scam. I asked them to provide me with a phone number that I could verify with the police. The person provided me with an 020 number, which I didn't call. Instead, I used the 1471 service and discovered their actual contact information.
It's evident that this was indeed a scam attempt.

There are constant phone calls that are allegedly coming from "BT." These calls are bothersome, as the callers refuse to listen and persistently pressure you to turn on your computer.

Received a call today from someone claiming to be from BT, stating that my BT router needed an update. The person had a strong Asian accent, making it quite challenging to comprehend what was being said. I informed the caller that I couldn't understand their accent and would need to end the call. However, they continued and mentioned a code, which they claimed to be my router number. Without further hesitation, I ended the call. Later, when I looked up the number online, it turned out to be a known telephone scam. The only concern I now have is how the scammer knew I had BT broadband, as I hadn't confirmed this with them during our conversation.

Today, I received a phone call claiming to be from BT. The person on the other end asked me to check my internet and Wi-Fi. They proceeded to provide instructions on which buttons to press on my computer. However, as I wasn't experiencing any issues, I ended the conversation and hung up. Subsequently, there were four additional calls from the same individual, but I chose not to answer. The caller identified themselves as Shaun, although their accent seemed to have a Caribbean influence, making it difficult for me to comprehend their words.

This number has made unsuccessful attempts to contact me a total of 15 times. It appears that this caller shares the same unrealistic story with other recipients. I find it puzzling as to why this number has not been blocked yet.

Mr. James, with an Asian accent, called me as well. He claimed to be from BT Openreach and provided me with a number to call him back. However, I ignored the request because I suspected it was a scam. This situation has occurred before.

Typical scammer from the Texas area with a US area code, identified by their resemblance to 'BT'. I didn't take the call, but I have added it to my blacklist.

I've received two calls from this number, but both times there was no answer, except for a quick "goodbye" after 2-3 seconds. Needless to say, I'm quite annoyed!

This morning, I received a call from a number claiming to be BT Open Reach. They informed me that I would lose my internet connection unless I granted them permission to assist. At that moment, I realized their intention was to gain remote access to my computer, so I promptly ended the call.

I received a phone call today informing me that BT Openreach will be updating the transmission codes at the exchange. The caller requested access to my computer in order to change my BT code. However, they unexpectedly mentioned Microsoft, which confused me as I couldn't understand the connection between the two. Consequently, the caller abruptly ended the conversation. Interestingly, this number has contacted me on previous occasions with various excuses to gain access to my computer, often claiming to represent Microsoft. They have also threatened to block my computer if I fail to comply with their requests. Although I may not be particularly knowledgeable about technology, I am certainly not naive either.

I received multiple calls today from an Indian gentleman named James Hunt who claimed to be from BT Openreach. He mentioned that they had conducted maintenance work on a nearby exchange which had impacted my router and would cause it to deteriorate further. Although I brushed him off initially, I decided to verify his claims online. It turns out that he was not affiliated with BT at all - it was a scam call.

Today, I was contacted by a person claiming to be from BT. They called from this specific number. I informed them that I solely owned an iPad. Strangely, they then requested me to utilise a computer belonging to a friend or neighbour to resolve the supposed issue. Sensing something suspicious, I promptly told them that my iPad was functioning perfectly fine and ended the call.

I have received four phone calls today and two yesterday from the same number. I chose not to answer as I have had a previous experience where this number had deceived me. They claimed to be from BT and threatened to disconnect my WiFi due to a computer virus. Regrettably, I allowed them to take control of my laptop, and they ended up stealing £17,000 from my bank account. It appears that this type of fraud is becoming increasingly prevalent nowadays, but fortunately, the police fraud squad is taking action against it. Do not fall victim to these dishonest individuals.

BT Openreach is the company I contacted to report a faulty service at my local exchange. A man named Jake, who sounded Indian, assisted me. Unfortunately, Jake seemed disinterested and grew impatient with my inquiries about the issue.
