I got a call from someone pretending to be from a debt recovery agency, but it was a total scam. Beware, these fraudsters are really out there pretending to be debt collectors!

Got a load of calls from some debt collectors, but I have no link to the person they're after. I've told them over and over to stop ringing me, but they won't remove my number from their list. It’s really annoying and stressful.

Got a call at work from a robo tracker. They kept asking for someone by a name I couldn’t catch. Gave me a case number and a callback number too. I rang the callback to try speaking to someone. The woman who answered asked which number I'd dialled. When I told her, she said it wasn’t on her system. She also said I wasn’t calling the right number as it didn’t appear on her end. Felt really strange. Definitely a scam or someone just trying to waste my time.

Got a call from 18665805355 and it was definitely a scam. Better to just ignore them and not give any info!

I got a call from someone saying they were from Action Collection and that I owed money. They mentioned the call was being recorded and kept asking for my personal details. I told them I wasn’t comfortable sharing any info over the phone with strangers. If I really owed money, they should already have my details and could just send a letter in the post. After I said that, they just ended the call. Definitely a scam.

So, this bloke rings me up but refuses to talk unless I give him my birthday and address first. He started by telling me the call was being recorded or something. Then he challenged me to just end the call. In the end, it was him who actually dropped the phone on me.

This number 8665805355 keeps ringing my phone but as soon as I answer, it either hangs up right away or there's just silence with someone listening. Its super annoying! They should really crack down on these kinds of calls and slap massive fines on the people behind them so they stop bothering folks forever.

They were really rude and didn't listen at all. They said I had a phone bill from 2004 that I owed £1500 on, and they demanded I pay it within 24 hours. Completely unreasonable!

We've been getting nonstop calls from this number about some debt from over ten years ago. They keep threatening to drag us to court. Today, I even got a letter from them but when I checked online it turns out they're just scammers. What really annoys me is they've been ringing my husband's workplace, which is definitely not allowed. They didn't realise we have Bell services and our account is fully paid off. Bell never gave them any permission to chase after us. Watch out for these awful people, they’re really aggressive on the phone and calling work is just illegal. I’m planning to take their letter straight to the police so they can sort this mess out.

Was quite impolite and refused to explain the reason for the call unless I provided my address.

Someone I know got a call from this number, and they asked specifically for me by name. What’s weird is I never shared their number with anyone, so how did they even get hold of it? The call came pretty late, around 8 in the evening. They actually phoned his work number, which ended up causing a right fuss with his boss. No clue what this company even does or who they are. Honestly, I just don’t get how they ended up with his contact at all…???

I’ve been getting loads of calls from this number and from 1-866-899-4573 too, both linked to the same ACRM listing. Since June 17th, 2015, they’ve rung me around 20 times, sometimes even two or three calls in a single day. When I did pick up, there was either a recorded message telling me to hold for an agent, or an automated voice saying something like “This isn’t a telemarketing call, please stay on the line” - basically the usual spiel. I’ve blocked both numbers on my phone so they don’t even get through to my voicemail. The calls come at all hours, though often close to meal times, which is really annoying. Surely there’s something that can be done to stop this organisation from pestering anyone else like this?

Can someone tell me how to block calls from this number? They keep leaving messages for someone who’s not me, just rambling on my voicemail. It’s getting ridiculous, like several calls a week at all hours. Really need some advice. I’m planning to report this to the CRTC if it doesn’t stop soon - quite fed up!
