Got a call from 86272452253 showing as unknown. I didn’t pick up and just rejected it. When I attempted to ring back, it didn’t go through. According to this website, I’m flagging it. The call was around 11:50 in the morning on 19th December, a Canadian number from Victoria, BC.

I got a call from 86282452253 but when I answered nothing happened, so I reckon it's a scam.

This one’s a bit weird for me! I never actually got a ringing call or anything showing missed, but there was a voicemail from an ‘unknown’ number. It was super creepy, kinda like something out of a sci-fi horror film - about 10 seconds of static, then this young woman’s voice speaking French, sounding really upset, saying “Allô” twice before hanging up. Proper unsettling. The next day, I tried something different, just messing about with the voicemail options and when I did, the number popped up on my screen, which led me straight here after a quick search. Has anyone else come across something this strange? Feels like something out of the X-Files or The Outer Limits. Could it be a spoof?

Then out of nowhere, the phone makes this call on its own. Proper annoying, honestly.

Got a call around 9:45 in the morning on 11/7/19 from a "private number". It rang twice and cut off before I picked up. I know a couple of folks who always hide their numbers, so I tried calling back. Right after I dialled, there was a quick beep and then the line went dead. The number appeared on my outgoing calls list though, which made me think it wasn’t a local number. Honestly, I can’t figure out what they’re after by fishing for active numbers like this.

I’ve had about four calls from this number already and decided to block it.

I got a call from this number and they also left a voicemail saying they were from the Maricopa Prosser office, asking for Karen Redd. They wanted me to ring another number, 18882954539. I’m certain it’s a scam since I haven’t done anything wrong.

This number, 18686282452253, has been ringing me non stop all day. I reported it as unknown but now it shows exactly like that. If you try to call it back, it drops the 1-86 and says it can’t be connected at the moment. The last time I picked up, a lady asked if I was someone else, then hung up before I could reply. It’s been bugging me since April 2018, so a long time now.

Got a call from someone claiming to be "Ms. Cory from some COLLECTION AGENCY," but I do NOT owe a dime. I've already BLOCKED this number, yet it somehow still gets through my phone. Seriously, AT&T has to do something and BLOCK this number for good because I’m fed up with getting multiple calls from them every single day! Just ignore it, don’t pick up!

22/09/18 just after 10am
21/09/18 twice, once in the evening at 8:27 and also earlier at 5:47 pm, and again that morning at 9:24 am
20/09/18 twice again, once at 10:33 am and then at 5:30 pm
19/09/18 at 10:14 am
16/09/18 at 6:18 pm
And a couple more from before then, but my phone won’t show me the exact time.
The first time I saw this was on 14/09/18 with calls around 6:55 pm and 8:18 pm, plus another one earlier that I can’t quite pinpoint.
No idea who or what they want, but “unavailable” shows up on my caller ID, so I’m not picking up. Whoever’s behind this can buzz off, seriously.

This number should really be stopped by AT&T. I tried blocking it on my phone but there's no way to do it, no option shows up at all. It's so annoying!

Been getting calls nonstop and not once have they left a message. They're claiming to be some kind of government wiretap but honestly, it's just a scam. Don’t get tricked by them trying to sneak into your private talks. I’m not falling for that nonsense at all.

Got a call from someone pretending to be from Canada Revenue, but turns out it's an Indian scam. They claimed to be Hindu or something - well, karma’s gonna get you lot eventually. Hope you see this and know that sooner or later, someone’s gonna track you down for your rubbish crimes. Honestly, shame on you for being such awful people.

You won’t believe it, but I’m pretty sure it’s a GOVERNMENT wiretap. I tried calling back once and it just linked me through. Seriously, don’t ring them back no matter what. Learned that one the hard way.

How on earth do you reckon it's some kind of government wiretap? That sounds a bit far-fetched to me, could you maybe give a bit more detail on why you'd think that?

This number is a total scam, it literally spells out "UNAVAILABLE". Just pop it into your block list yourself and boom, done! You won’t get any more calls from it :)

Have you ever noticed that if you check the number on your phone's keypad, it actually spells out "UNAVAILABLE"? It seems like they do this to get around the call blocking for unavailable numbers on our phones. Quite a sneaky trick!

I went ahead and put the number in my contacts, then grabbed the Zedge app to set a silent ringtone and no notification for it. I’ll check back in later and update if that actually stops the nuisance!

This number rings me up like 8 times daily. I tried picking up before but there’s nothing, just dead silence and no one talking. I've been getting constant calls from this number but they never leave a voicemail. I haven’t picked up because my phone plan hits me with big fees for overseas calls. Got a call from this number just now, had to take a pic of the screen since my phone didn’t know who it was. Some guy with an Indian accent was on the line asking about my life insurance with Aviva. Thing is, I don’t have any. He somehow knew my name and postcode, then asked if I was over 65! I’m only 27! No way, blocked straight away.

He attempted to inquire about my name, so I naturally turned the tables and asked for his in return. Feeling quite cheeky, I called him out for his rudeness and made it clear that I had tracked the call’s source, fully aware they were likely using some fancy tech to disguise their digits. But it seems to be one of those calls from India, and they’re after nothing more than to con you, just like they’ve done to so many others before us. Those enormous call centres over there really know how to run a racket. Legitimate business folks in America end up buying huge batches of numbers from companies like Sprint and Verizon. When investigators here have attempted to approach them, they either go silent or make a run for it. It's astonishing that these individuals reside in such affluent areas across our country. These Indian call centres have a rather unsettling amount of personal information about us, and it feels like they’re aiming to extract hundreds or even thousands from unsuspecting victims. You can see the pain in the eyes of elderly folks when they’ve been duped on the telly. I’ve made a vow to steer clear of buying anything from India now. Honestly, grab a whistle or, if you can muster it, just bellow into the phone with all your might. We’ve had enough, and it’s high time we stand up for ourselves. Let’s make a ruckus - scream, blow that whistle, bang together a couple of metal pots. It’s time for us to push back, folks.

Honestly, there has to be some method to put an end to this moron, they're ringing nonstop like all day, every single day without a break. Someone really ought to jam pencils deep into their ears or maybe even chop off their fingers so they can't keep dialling. And knocking out their tongue so they can’t chat would probably do the trick too. That’d probably sort this nuisance out once and for all.
