Just two days back I got a call from a number that popped up as "spectrum" working with direct tv or something. But when I asked spectrum, they told me they don’t have any deal with direct tv. Bit confusing honestly!

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Spectrum (the caller ID said Spectrum too). They offered me a discount if I changed over to Direct TV, but they never mentioned Direct TV at the beginning. I only caught on when they talked about getting Genie boxes, which made me suspicious. Not sure if this was a genuine Direct TV rep or a scam. I told them I'd ring back after discussing it with my partner. They even gave me a name and number to call back on.

Called about a deal for direct tv, $60 a month for four tvs. They asked me for my social security number, said it was just a soft check on my credit. Wanted to make sure I qualified for the service. Then they tried to book an installation appointment and asked for my mobile or another contact number. They also asked my birth date. There was a ton of noise in the background. After I agreed to the service, they switched me over to someone else.
