I've encountered this number being used by fraudsters yet again. Just got hit with an automated call from a lady with a faint Indian accent. She stated there was some dubious activity linked to my network and that my identity and financial details were at risk. They insisted I hop onto a computer straight away and ring them back without hesitation! Given that a dodgy individual from a company I was recently dealing with made off with my credit card info just last week, I've got no patience for this sort of rubbish. These lowlifes seem to be popping up everywhere!

What a fraud! It’s clearly a phishing attempt aimed at extracting personal information so they can wreak havoc on your computer. Do yourself a favour and steer clear of this number-run as fast as you can! It’s not worth the risk!

I keep receiving calls from this lot, insisting I need to ring them back straight away as my personal details have been compromised. Isn’t there a way we could trace these blokes and put a stop to their nonsense?

Absolutely a con! They claim to be from Microsoft, warning you that your computer will be locked unless you get in touch with them.

I got a rather alarming call at 9 in the evening on March 22nd from the number 844-879-3977. The caller claimed to be from Microsoft and insisted that my computer had been breached. They urged me to ring the number back immediately or I’d face having my system locked down! I decided to cut the call short and did some digging afterwards. Turns out, it’s a total scam! I’ve read numerous warnings online about this. Take caution, folks! If you get a similar call, just hang up. It’s nothing but a scam!

I received a phone call from someone who sounded Middle Eastern, possibly from Pakistan or India, using this number. They echoed what many others have mentioned here - claiming there was an attempt to misuse my identity. They had details about how they could remotely access my computer. However, feeling uneasy about the whole situation, I denied them access. After the call, I looked into the number and found out it’s a dodgy scam.

I just got a peculiar phone call at my residence from a rather robotic-sounding woman claiming to be from Microsoft. She warned me of strange activity linked to my account and that my identity was at risk of being pilfered. The number she provided to ring back was 844-879-3977. Being the cheeky person I am, I decided to give them a bell. A chap with a heavy Middle Eastern accent picked up and introduced himself as “Microsoft,” asking what prompted my call. I recounted the odd message I had received. He then inquired if I was near a computer, to which I replied, “I don’t own one.” He seemed perplexed and queried why I had even bothered to call back. I shot back, saying it's lowlifes like him who disturb my peace at home with their blatant scams. I suggested he get himself a proper job instead! Of course, I made sure to alert the FTC, FBI, and the state Attorney General’s Office about this shoddy operation. And I hope others do the same!

I received a rather dodgy phone call at my residence from a robotic female voice hailing from 470-333-0096, claiming to be representing Microsoft. They mentioned some dubious activity associated with my account and warned that my identity was at risk of being compromised. They prompted me to ring back at 844-879-3977. Now, being quite fond of toying with these nefarious characters, I decided to return the call. A chap answered, proclaiming to be from "Microsoft," and inquired about the reason for my call. His accent was distinctly Middle Eastern. When he asked if I was near my computer, I informed him that I didn’t possess one. His next question was bizarre: why I chose to call back? I told him it was people like him who intrude into my home with their blatant scams that motivated me! I suggested he find a legitimate job! I've also made sure to report this to the FTC, the FBI, and my local Attorney General's Office! Job's a good'un!

I just had a call from the number mentioned earlier, and they left a rather concerning voicemail saying that my computer would be disabled if I didn’t get back to them.

I just received a message from a synthetic female voice claiming that Microsoft intends to turn off my computer. The only issue? I own a Mac! This definitely has all the hallmarks of a phishing attempt.

My laptop just went completely unresponsive after I was greeted by a rather sinister message claiming that "they" had found malware and various other problems on my machine. Quite professional if you ask me, but also incredibly unsettling, especially since I’ve ensured that all my pop-ups are disabled. A word of caution about torrent sites - they may boast about being free from spyware and viruses, but don’t be fooled.

I opted to power down the laptop and reboot it.

And just like that, the pesky warning vanished.

I received a rather alarming notification on my computer, complete with a voice urging me to contact Microsoft to avert potential issues. The chap on the line had quite a thick accent, and his pitch was so persuasive that he almost had me convinced as he pointed out all the supposed problems with my device. He claimed it would cost £149.99 to have a so-called "Level 5 technician" sort it all out. But after a quick search of the number, I realised it was a scam. Glad I didn’t take the bait!
