Got a call from this number again, and it was one of those automated scam calls. There was a woman speaking with a faint Indian accent, warning me about some shady activity on my account and trying to steal my ID and bank details. She insisted I sit down at my computer and ring them straight away! Given that just a few days back, someone from a place I was dealing with swiped my credit card info, I really have no time for this rubbish. These idiots pop up all over the place!!!

Absolutely a total scam, or maybe phishing, they're just after your details to screw up your computer bad! I’d seriously advise you to keep well away from this number, just sprint the other way as fast as you can!!

This annoying number keeps ringing me telling me to call right away because apparently my info’s been stolen. Isn’t it about time someone tracked these idiots down and stopped them from bothering folks?

Got a call around 9 at night on March 22nd from 844-879-3977. The person on the line claimed my computer was hacked and that they were from Microsoft. They told me I had to ring back straight away or my laptop would get locked. I didn’t fall for it and ended the call. Later, I checked online and found out it’s a known scam! Honestly, don’t trust these calls. Just ignore and hang up. It’s definitely a con! Watch out!

Got a voicemail from 470-204-0120 saying my computer would be shut down by Microsoft if I didn’t ring the 844 number right away. Total scam, obviously.

I got a call from someone with an accent like they might be from India or Pakistan, using this number, telling me the exact same story as others here - that my identity was at risk. He gave a load of details and said he could access my computer. But I was pretty dubious and didn’t let him anywhere near it. After that, I looked up the number and found out it was a total scam.

Got a call at my house from 470-333-0096, with some weird robotic woman saying she was from Microsoft and there was sketchy activity on my account, claiming my identity was at risk. The message told me to ring back on 844-879-3977. Since I love winding these scammers up, I gave them a buzz. A bloke answered saying he was from Microsoft, but he had a strong Middle Eastern accent. I told him about the odd message I’d got. He then asked if I was sat in front of my computer, and I said I don’t even own one. He asked why I bothered calling back then, and I didn’t hold back, telling him to get a real job instead of pestering people with scams like his. I made sure to report them to the FTC, FBI, and my state’s Attorney General too!

I got a call at my place from 470-333-0096 with a robotic female voice saying they were from Microsoft and warned me about suspicious activity and identity theft risks. They told me to ring 844-879-3977. Since I like winding up these scammers, I dialled them back. A guy answered saying he was “Microsoft” and asked what I wanted. He had a thick Middle Eastern accent. When he asked if I was at my computer, I told him I don’t even own one. Then he asked why I bothered calling back. I bluntly replied it’s scam jerks like him pestering my home and I told him to get a proper job! Afterwards, I reported them to the FTC, FBI, and my state’s Attorney General. Serves them right!

Got a call from a robotic lady's voice telling me Microsoft was about to close down my PC... thing is, I’ve got a MAC! Definitely looks like some sort of phishing con to me.

So, my laptop suddenly got stuck after a scary message popped up, saying some "they" found malware and other problems on my system. It looked super official, which freaked me out a bit, especially since I keep all those annoying pop-ups blocked. Really makes you think twice about using those torrent websites, no matter what they say about being safe or free from viruses.

Anyway, I just forced a shutdown and turned it back on.

That annoying warning didn’t come back.

Got a call from this number after seeing a warning on my screen about a virus or something causing trouble on my PC. The bloke had quite a thick accent and was really persuasive, explaining all sorts of problems with my computer. He said I needed to pay £149.99 for a “Level 5 technician” to sort it out. Luckily, I looked up the number online before doing anything and avoided getting scammed.
