They also provided another number, 757-656-3585, and something about the sheriff's office in Franklin County was mentioned. I'm rather baffled by the whole thing and haven’t bothered to return the call yet.

Absolute con artists. Be sure to notify your local Attorney General's office or the Financial Conduct Authority. They ring you up claiming they're going to deliver a summons for writing dodgy cheques linked to payday loans. The lowest of the low, honestly. Perhaps they should consider finding genuine employment. They’ve also been using the number 844-801-5200, so keep your wits about you. The address 732 Eden Way N., Suite 115, Chesapeake, VA 23320 is simply a mail drop at a UPS shop. They don’t even have legitimate ownership of the debt they’re harping on about. The whole operation is utterly BOGUS.
