I got a call from a bloke who claimed he was from something called Nationwide Document Delivery, saying they needed to serve me with legal papers. He also gave me a number for some place named Trojan Financial. When I rang that number back, the guy said I was being taken to court over an old Wells Fargo account, supposedly overdue and about $1500 in debt. He claimed they’d already passed it to several debt collectors. I then reached out to Wells Fargo myself, and they told me there’s no record of any bad accounts or anything like that. I told the caller to send someone round if they really wanted to, but I wasn’t going to fall for any scare tactics. The weird bit is he actually had my full social and name, but I figure that’s because my info was part of that huge Equifax hack some time ago.

They tried to scare me saying they'd take legal steps if I didn’t ring back, but they even got the name completely wrong.
