We received a phone call from the number 1-844-528-0423, identifying themselves as "CBV Collection Services" on behalf of the City of North Bay. The perplexing bit? We've never set foot in North Bay, nor have we ever attended school there, owned any property, or have any relatives connected to that area. As far as we're aware, we don't have any ties to North Bay whatsoever. The moment I heard them mention the City of North Bay, my suspicion radar went into overdrive - and now it all makes sense. Interestingly, this same number has reached out to us previously; however, I can’t quite recall what their story was back then.

I had a rather peculiar phone call from a lady with an Indian accent. She mentioned my son’s name and requested that I verify his date of birth and our address. Interestingly, she provided me with the number 1844-528-0423 ext. 11019. She claimed it was an urgent issue concerning the city of Toronto. Be cautious, everyone! I urge you not to divulge any personal details! I received a call on my mobile from a woman named “Kush,” who claimed to be looking for my son. She insisted he must reach out to the city of Toronto at the number 1 844 528 0423 extension 61029. Strangely, she wouldn’t clarify or provide any information. Clearly, a scam! My phone logged calls from 289 748 1696 and 289 748 1664, both originating from Brampton, Ontario. What a scam! To my fellow Canadians: it's crucial to remember that if any government, provincial, or municipal department needs to get in touch with you, they'll always send a letter. That's how they officially communicate-they don't just ring you out of the blue. Please, steer clear of these scammers!

Watch out for these con artists! Do not share any personal details. I received a phone call on my mobile from a woman named “Kush,” who claimed to be looking for my son. So, it appears my partner has been receiving calls from this number asking about me. When I rang back, a rather impolite woman answered and demanded my phone number to verify if I was the correct person to request the number's removal. These individuals represent CBV Collection Services Ltd, and I must say, they leave much to be desired. They seem to be relentless in their pursuit, bothering those of us with a similar surname to the actual debtor they're after. It baffles me how they're still operating in this day and age. I've received an avalanche of calls-close to a hundred, if not more-as well as incessant text messages. Truly a remarkable display of tenacity! They purchase old, uncollected debts from banks and various other places, throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks, including claims that date back over a decade. A word to the wise: steer clear of paying anything that's older than seven years; the statute of limitations can definitely work in your favour, rendering their threats toothless when it comes to your credit rating. Ultimately, they're just dodgy operators trying to scrape by without any real means of earning.
