I chose not to pick up when I noticed that the caller ID read “Toll Free Call” - an obvious red flag for those pesky telemarketing spiels. Out of curiosity, I rang the number back, only to discover from my phone provider that the number was misconfigured. In my attempt to block this nuisance, I encountered the same frustrating message. It seems this number has been widely flagged as associated with a Medicare scammer. Seriously, why must we endure these unscrupulous individuals invading our privacy?

Picked up the call, and before I knew it, they were firing off all sorts of personal questions at me. I opted not to engage with their queries and instead sought clarity on their intentions. The chap abruptly terminated the call, leaving me none the wiser.
