I received a similar experience recently. An automated message claimed they would initiate legal proceedings against me. So, I decided to reach out to the CRA today, and to my relief, they informed me that there’s absolutely nothing on my record. The CRA urged me to be extremely wary about sharing any personal details, as they’ve been inundated with fraudulent calls of late. The representative assured me that any official issues tied to taxes would always be communicated through the post, not over the phone. Stay vigilant, everyone!

A curious incident unfolded when I received a call from this number, which left a rather alarming voicemail. It was from a woman whose English was somewhat halting. She mentioned my name and stated she was with the CRA, warning me that failure to return the call would result in dire legal repercussions and potential liability for hefty legal costs. To be honest, I’ve never had any disputes with the CRA nor have I ever received any correspondence from them regarding legal matters. I'm inclined to think that responding to them would be unwise, don’t you agree?

I received a call from the number 1-844-240-3114, and the person on the other end claimed they were going to place a lien on all of my assets and bank accounts imminently, within the next day, no less! I first picked it up through my answering machine, but as soon as I realised what it was, I quickly pressed the stop button to cut off the call.
