The number had a Maui area code so I picked up, thinking it might be local. The guy on the line claimed I’d applied for a position through their site and said he could set me up with a job nearby. Then he asked when I finished high school, which seemed odd. Things got weird when he wanted to know what I’d study if I returned to school. I told him I already have a BA and asked if that wasn’t enough for the employer. I ended the call and blocked the number. What a plonker.

I’ve never picked up when this number rings, even though it’s got a Hawaii area code that matches my late father-in-law’s old phone. Just got another call today from this number. The person on the line said, "Hello, I’m Joe, your Medicare representative. How are you today?" and then immediately hung up.

The number itself isn’t even assigned to anyone. I’m guessing this might be some kind of phishing scam trying to see if they can access your phone or computer. The voice sounds like a prerecorded message, always with the same tone. I reckon if it picks up on you answering, it realises it’s not a machine on the other end and just cuts the call straight away. There must be a way to block these annoying calls for good.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from the local prequalification team. As soon as I said "yeah", they just ended the call. Weird!

Got a few missed calls from this number, twice on Tuesday and Thursday and then three times today (Friday). I usually don't pick up calls from numbers I don’t know, so I ignored them. They didn’t leave any voicemail either, so I didn’t see the point in calling back. From what I’ve seen in other comments, if this was from Medicare or the health department, they'd leave a voicemail and then send a letter explaining the reason for the call.
