I've recently fallen victim to a rather elaborate scam involving a bogus credit card that was purportedly from Chase Slate. They informed me that they couldn't verify my account in their records, which was odd, considering I was trying to access my own details. Even more frustratingly, the username I had selected was apparently already taken. They’ve managed to obtain my social security number and email address, which is quite alarming. Interestingly, I stumbled upon a Chase credit card that was issued in my name while going through my ex-husband's belongings; I found it tucked away in his desk after I had to evict him back in 2019 under a restraining order. That card is valid until September 2023. The back of it bears a phone number, the same one I called back in 2019. However, when I reached out, they claimed they had no record of that card! I figured perhaps it was cancelled due to inactivity. What a despicable scam this has turned out to be!

I received a call from this number, promoting a credit card with a 0% interest rate from a bank-though I couldn't quite catch which one. It was a robotic voice dispensing the information about the credit card. I ended the call after about 15 seconds, as it all seemed rather dodgy.

I received a call from this number, with an individual claiming he could assist me with my credit situation. I promptly informed him that my number is registered on the 'do not call' list, but he continued to argue and even swore at me, clearly thinking I was joking. He was of Indian descent, by the way. Thankfully, my caregiver took over the conversation and politely asked him to remove my number from his list. She wasn’t impressed with his disrespectful tone, especially after explaining that I am visually impaired. The moment she mentioned my blindness, along with the fact that I don’t possess a credit card, he became quite apologetic. This was my home phone, and it’s disheartening to say the least that I constantly receive calls from these fraudulent companies. Received a call from someone purporting to be from Chase, promising a reduction on my credit card interest rates. Being an octogenarian with rather poor hearing, I unfortunately didn't grasp that it was a scam. I ended up providing three account details before I contacted Chase for verification, only to discover it was all a ruse. When I tried to ring the number back, I was met with a recorded message stating that the number was no longer in service. Once again, I’ve fallen victim to those wretched scammers. I will be reaching out to my other card providers to alert them as well. It’s utterly ridiculous that the telephone service we pay for has turned into a source of stress. Definitely a dodgy operation. I noticed I’d missed a call from this number, didn’t pick up, and there was no voicemail left behind. After some research online led me to various comments, I thought it wise to ring back. When I did, a chap from Chase picked up and I mentioned the missed call, wanting to verify if it was on the level. He didn’t request any personal details but assured me that this number is strictly for incoming calls-so if it reaches out to you, it’s a definite red flag. Apparently, it’s involved in some sort of phone number spoofing scam. I'd recommend blocking this number without hesitation.

There's someone out there pretending to be from Chase Bank, and they're definitely up to no good. They've been trying to trick folks into entering their credit card details, which is a complete no-go! If you fall for it, they could very well steal your identity and drain your bank account. If you’re ever in doubt, I highly recommend ringing Chase directly - they will confirm this is all a scam. It's absolutely infuriating that the FCC hasn't managed to track down the tosser behind these incessant calls. I pressed 1 during the automated message about reducing my credit card interest rates. When a bloke with a strong accent took over, I inquired if it was possible to get a '0%' rate. To my surprise, he confirmed that I could qualify. But then I pointed out that I don't actually own any credit cards, which sparked him to exclaim, "Why the heck did you even press that button?" I calmly told him to take my number off their call list, to which he retaliated with an avalanche of vulgarities. I was taken aback, genuinely. His tirade continued, so I just wished him a lovely day when he finally paused for breath. I truly wish I could have captured that conversation-it would have made a brilliant example of how not to behave on a telemarketing call! What a carry-on! 😂

I receive calls from this number on a daily basis, without fail! They ring me at all hours-be it 6 in the morning or 10 at night, it's relentless! The spiel is always the same, claiming they can "reduce my credit card rates" due to my supposedly excellent credit score, suggesting they can drop my rates to a mere 5%. It's as if they're pretending to know my financial details! When I challenged them on this, the operator switched gears and began spouting some rather unseemly comments, all while sporting a thick Indian accent. It's absolutely outrageous!
