I fell victim to a scam involving a fake credit card that was supposedly from Chase Slate. When I tried to verify my account, they claimed it couldn’t be found in their system. The username I tried to use was apparently already taken. They ended up getting hold of my social security info and email address. Years ago, I found a Chase credit card in my ex-husband’s desk after I had him legally removed from our home with a restraining order back in 2019. The card’s expiry date is 9/23. It even had the same phone number printed on it, so I rang that number back in 2019. They told me they had no record of the card whatsoever. I just assumed it was cancelled due to inactivity. What a ridiculous con!

On Friday evening around 7pm CDT, an older mate of mine who struggles with memory got in touch to say he’d received a call from 800.945.2000. The caller claimed to be from Byline Bank in Chicago, saying his debit card had been stolen and there was a £2,000 charge, and they needed his card details to sort it out. Obviously, this was nonsense since he doesn’t even have a debit card, and any legitimate bank already has their own info. We’ve been trying to get him to just hang up straight away if strangers ring, and taught him that banks, Medicare, or the SSA don’t just randomly phone out of nowhere. Thankfully, he remembered to ring me soon after the suspicious call, which means our warnings might be getting through after all.

It’s so frustrating the government just sits there not doing a thing, especially when they’re supposed to be sorting out big issues like the President. Honestly, we should just kick all the politicians out, none of them seem to actually help us who they represent. They really need to start making some real changes, enough of the empty talk!

Got a call from this number, and they were pushing some 0% credit card deal from a bank - didn’t catch which one though. It was one of those robotic voice messages trying to sell it. I just ended the call pretty quickly, maybe after 15 seconds or so.

I got a call from this guy claiming he could fix my credit, but I told him I'm on the do not call register. He then started arguing and swearing at me, thinking I was messing about. He sounded Indian. Luckily, my carer grabbed the phone and politely told him to take my number off his list. She wasn’t happy with his rude manner and mentioned that I’m blind. Once she said that and reminded him I don’t even have a credit card, he suddenly got all apologetic. It was my landline he was ringing, and these scam callers keep pestering me nonstop. It’s really upsetting that nothing seems to stop these kinds of people from doing this. Truly shameful behavior.

Got a call and the number showed up as Chase Card Services. The weird part is, I don't even have a credit card with them. When I tried calling back, it was just some robo message telling me to punch in my 16 digit card number. Felt kinda fishy to me.

Got a call from someone saying they were from Chase, saying they could lower my credit card interest. I’m 83 and don’t hear well, so I didn’t realise it was a scam. Ended up giving them three different account numbers before I thought to double-check with Chase. Turns out it was a total con. Tried calling the number back but it was already disconnected. Feeling proper fooled by these scam artists again. I’m now planning to ring my other card companies and warn them too. It’s such a shame we pay for a phone service that’s meant to be helpful but just leaves us open to these crooks. You can’t trust anyone nowadays. Makes you wonder why Congress just lets this keep happening and doesn’t step in. WRD from Florida.

Definitely a scam. I saw a missed call from this number but didn’t pick it up and there was no message left. I looked up the number online and after reading what others said, I rang back. Someone claiming to be from Chase answered, and I asked if the call was legit or a scam. They didn’t request any personal details but told me that this phone number is for incoming calls only, so you shouldn’t ever get a call from it. They confirmed it’s linked to fraud and number spoofing, so they told me to block the number right away.

Somebody pretending to be Chase bank called me the other day, total scam alert. They want you to enter your credit card details, don’t fall for it! They’ll steal your identity and drain your card. If you’re ever unsure, ring Chase yourself on their official number. They’ll warn you exactly the same thing. Never share your info with anyone claiming to be from the bank. If you get a call like this, just hang up and check with the real company. It’s 100% a con!

I seriously hope the FCC manages to track down this idiot. I keep getting the exact same call over and over, and it’s getting really annoying. Everyone just says to ignore it, but that doesn’t help much. With all the technology we have now, it’s frustrating that the FCC can’t seem to shut these scams down. Makes me lose a bit of trust in them, honestly.

I hit 1 when the automated message asked me about lowering interest on credit cards. A guy with a strong accent picked up, and when I asked if I could get a 0% rate, he said I qualified. I then explained I don’t actually have any credit cards, and that's when he snapped, asking why on earth I pressed the button. I told him to take me off their call list and he started calling me a proper rude name! I was like, seriously? He kept swearing, and when he finally stopped, I just told him to have a nice day. Honestly, I wish I’d recorded it to show folks just how NOT to speak to someone as a telemarketer. Ha!

This bloke’s really making Chase and Visa look awful. I don’t see how he hasn’t been shut down yet. I say bloke because whether it’s this number or another, it’s always the same cheeky bloke with a sort of Middle Eastern accent, running the same old scam. Seems like it's paying off for him, cos he’s been at it for ages now.

I rang this number again and it oddly sounds exactly like Chase Card Services, asking you to punch in your credit card details. Feels like a proper scam to me. This phone number rings me CONSTANTLY, no matter if it’s early morning at work or late at night, like 6am or 10pm - they just don’t stop! The caller claims they can reduce my credit card interest to 5% because my credit score is supposedly excellent, acting like they actually know which cards I hold. I told him I wasn’t buying it. After that, his tone turned all rude and he spoke with a strong Indian accent. Honestly, these callers should be tracked down and stopped!

Wow, just got a call from 1-800-945-2000 and honestly, I’m so fed up with these annoying calls. I picked up and the voice said they could lower the interest rates on my Visa, but if I didn’t press 1 for their operator, my cards would get cancelled. I decided to mess with whoever was behind this scam, so I pressed 1. When some person with a thick accent answered, I told them off, saying they had no right to cancel my Visa and that they themselves should be cancelled for scamming people. Then out of nowhere, this person started saying extremely inappropriate things like "will you do me if I come over?" I couldn’t believe it! I told them that’s exactly why we’ve got problems, this kind of behaviour from foreigners. I told them to leave my country and took a deep breath because I was absolutely shocked by the whole thing. Honestly, I’m furious with these scammers and their nonsense. Sorry for the language but I’m just really angry right now!
