My credit card got hacked, so I tried ringing the number provided to cancel it and report the issue. I thought it was the bank's official line, but when I called, the name on the screen said something about Canadian sportswear. No one answered on the other end either. In the end, I had to visit the branch in person to sort everything out.

I thought this was the official RBC Customer Support number shown on the back of my VISA and bank cards. But when I rang, some robotic guy asked me for my credit card details and birth year. Weirdly, my caller ID showed “Canada Sportswear” instead of RBC. I’d be careful with this number, feels like it could be some sort of scam or hacked line.

Received a letter at my house with the RBC logo on it saying I’d been accepted for some application I supposedly filled in. Thing is, I never did anything like that and have nothing to do with that bank. Pretty strange.

Got a letter from RBC today telling me they enrolled me for the WESTJET RBC WORLD ELITE MC. They mentioned they couldn’t pass on a valid email to WestJet because either I didn’t give it when applying or it wasn’t in the right format. The letter had two phone numbers to call if I needed to sort it out: 1-888-937-8538 and 1-800-769-2512. Quite strange getting this out of the blue!
