8006334227 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number โ˜Ž๏ธ 8006334227 ๐Ÿ‘† is reported as a frequently spoofed number linked to Medicare scams, where callers often pose as Medicare representatives requesting personal details like Social Security numbers or Medicare ID. Many complain of repeated calls from call centres with foreign accents pressuring for information about new Medicare cards or benefits, despite recipients not qualifying for Medicare. Users confirm the real Medicare office number is the same, which scammers exploit to appear legitimate. Callers sometimes hang up abruptly if challenged. Several mention calls about back braces or new cards, often masked by poor English or odd behaviour. Genuine callers can be confused with these scams, as the number is actually Medicareโ€™s official line for info, but scammers misuse it to try to steal identity data.

I actually handed over my ID to one of those Medicare scammers - 5RE2-KC4-UF96. Honestly, I reckon it’s my right to mess around with these phishers a bit.

I got a call from a woman who sounded like she was in a busy call centre - I could hear other voices chatting in the background. She said she was ringing from some American Health Insurance place in Baltimore, MD, and wanted to check my name and date of birth. I didn’t give her any info, even though she already knew my name. She claimed she needed to verify my date of birth and my card number so Medicare could send me updated cards. Apparently, I had Part C and Parts A & B, she said. I told her I couldn’t give her a card number because I’m not old enough and don’t qualify for Medicare at all. Despite that, she kept pushing for me to confirm details to get the new Medicare cards. I asked if this was some kind of identity scam because I don’t have Medicare yet, so how could I have a card number? She finally gave up and hung up. The number she called from was 800-633-4227, which others have flagged too. This happened on 3rd December 2021.

Hey, I need to chat with someone about a Social Security Number issue. Is there anyone who speaks German available? It would really help if you could connect me with them. Thanks!

Lately they've been ringing me multiple times each day but never bother to leave any voicemail.

This number has rung me a couple of times now, always with someone trying to push a back support or something similar. They kept asking me to check with a supervisor or something which felt really dodgy :/ I just ended the call straight away. It’s the same accent every time and they keep phoning. I did a quick online search and apparently it’s a known scam, but they don’t seem to stop. Honestly, not sure what’s the right move here?

Got a call from a number I didn't recognise, turns out it was some dodgy Medicare scam trying to get my details. Stay sharp out there!

Got a call from someone saying they were from Medicare, checking if I got my new card. They asked for info and kept calling me "Bob" instead of Robert. Felt kinda sketchy to me. Probably a scam.

Got a call pretending to be from Medicare, total scam!

This morning, around 11:18 on the 18th of April 2019, a woman called me claiming to be Kate Miller. She said I was eligible to get a new back brace. I accidentally shared my social security number with her, even though I know better since I didn't call her first. I've since reached out to the actual Medicare office and informed them about what happened. Karen A Pringle, 30 Westfield St, Worcester, MA 01602

Beware of a scammer pretending to be from Medicare using the number 1-800-633-4227. They speak English badly and ask if you’ve got your new Medicare card yet. If you say no, they’ll try to get details from your old card. Just don’t engage and hang up immediately! Medicare does NOT phone you out of the blue. If you want to help stop this, report them to the Federal Trade Commission via www.ftc.gov. Click on "File a Consumer Complaint," then hit the red "ALERT" button. Skip the personal info sections and jump to the end where you can write your complaint before sending it. The more people report, the faster the FTC can track down and stop these fraudsters.

Definitely not Medicare. When I checked the number on a reverse lookup, it showed as Blue Bell Surgery Center in Norristown, PA.

Got a call from someone insisting I hand over my old Medicare number to supposedly get free meds before the new number arrived. Seemed off to me.

They ring me about five or six times daily, and I usually ignore them. But once, when they started asking loads of questions, I just cut the call off. Still, they keep calling claiming I've got a new card number, which is strange since I'm not even on Medicare.

Got a call saying they needed to verify my number because a new card was being sent. I looked up the number on this site and realised it's definitely a scam.

Some bloke rang claiming he needed my old Medicare number to 'turn it off'. Anyone who's got Medicare knows that used to be our Social Security number. I told him straight up that Medicare would never phone like that, and he just dropped the call.

He rang up asking for my previous Medicare number to supposedly cancel it. Anyone familiar with Medicare knows that old number is actually our Social Security number. I told him Medicare wouldn’t be calling me like that, and then he just ended the call.

Received a call from someone speaking with an Indian accent who said they were from Medicare. When I asked for their number to ring back, they gave me the Medicare helpline, but the caller ID actually showed the number as 1-635-482-6520. Definitely a scam.

This number rang me not long ago, and the person on the line claimed my Medicare card was no longer valid. When I asked what was going on, he said he needed my details to send a replacement. I just told him, “Do I look daft to you?” and put the phone down straight away.

I get calls from this number all day long and have asked them over and over to leave me alone. Today, the bloke actually burped right into the phone before even saying hello.

My mum got a call from this number, they said it was about her Medicare and wanted to get details about her and her emergency contacts. Quite strange, wasn't sure if it was legit or not.

This number has rung me more than 20 times now, always asking to speak to my wife. It's meant to be Medicare’s official 800 number, but I can’t figure out how these con artists manage to use it. Anyone who answers might think they’re talking to the real Medicare, but it’s just a scam to steal personal details. Totally ridiculous these fraudsters are so clever with this!

Today I got a phone call, and the number showed up as 800-633-4227. When I picked up and asked who it was, the man on the line said it was about Medicare. I told him I’m only in my 40s, so why would they be contacting me about that? He just hung up straight away. I tried calling the number back, and it turned out to be the official Medicare office. Not sure if this was a case of caller ID spoofing, but it definitely felt like a dodgy scam to me.

On 13th Feb 2018 around 8pm EST, I got a call from this number. The person had an Indian accent and said I qualified for a new 2018 benefit without paying anything extra. They asked me to confirm my last name, then wanted the exact spelling on my BC/BS supplemental card. Then came the sketchy part - they tried to get my member ID that matches my name. I refused and they just hung up immediately. I looked up the number later and it’s linked to Medicare. - William K Nock, Essex, MD [email protected]

So this happened on a Saturday, right? I told some guy named Michael, who spoke with an African accent, that I'd ring him back. Later that evening around 7pm, I got another call but the person had an Asian accent this time. Honestly, these folks from San Diego, CA seem a bit dodgy to me.

Someone rang me up asking weird stuff about my late stepmum's Medicare. I was a bit confused and didn’t really know what to say. Seemed odd to be getting calls about that, especially since she’s passed away. Don’t think I’ll be answering that number again!

I got a call from this number and the person said they were with the marketplace advanced resolution centre. But when I rang the number again, it turned out to be for Medicare. Bit confusing, honestly.
