I received a rather alarming phone call from someone claiming to be a "Richard Ben," presenting himself with the badge number GOC 9774. He accused me of having, believe it or not, 25 bank accounts, primarily based in Montreal, allegedly involved in over ten million dollars' worth of fraudulent activity! He rambled on about money laundering and various other accusations that I've now forgotten. He mentioned that I would be handed over to the RCMP following our conversation. What struck me as extremely dodgy was his insistence on obtaining the last three digits of my SIN, along with my full address and name. It seemed he was attempting to verify my bank details!

I received a telephone call regarding my National Insurance number, yet the caller couldn’t even mention my name! If they’re unaware of my name, how on earth can they assert ownership over my number, whether it’s a telephone or SIN? I inquired about their location, as the noise on their end was quite distracting. It’s worth noting that during the Covid-19 pandemic, the legitimate CRA has been operating from home, not from some bustling call centre. The response I got was simply “The Ottawa Location.” Mind you, I live in a rather small town, nowhere near Ottawa, and we’ve got numerous Service Canada outlets; so this vague “Ottawa Location” doesn’t really clarify anything. If they truly were calling from anywhere in Ottawa, they ought to specify further. Also, let’s not forget that during these times, all those offices are shut, so they're more than likely up to no good. Stay safe out there!

Received a call with a pre-recorded message, prompting me to hit 1. Purely out of interest, I complied. The voice on the line claimed that the RCMP would be paying me a visit! What a joke! I informed the caller that the RCMP has no dealings with me whatsoever. I reside on a First Nation, and my father happens to be a sergeant in the police force. I’ll definitely be reaching out to him to confirm whether the RCMP are, in fact, pursuing me. I requested the caller’s name, and he provided “Mark Hanson,” followed by an 1800 number that’s entirely different from the one displayed on my screen. What a bunch of numpties!

Utterly dodgy! Just received a robocall voicemail about some dubious activity linked to my National Insurance number. They had the nerve to say "press one if you'd like further information." Let's be real-government agencies don’t use robocalls! They simply inform you with a straightforward message, no options for chatting. And having your NI number compromised isn't an excuse to empty your bank account. It's merely a situation that calls for alerting your bank so they can flag it and perhaps monitor your credit.

I've just had a rather alarming call from this number, and I can't shake off the stress of it. The caller was claiming that my National Insurance Number had been misused and urged me to withdraw all my savings and deposit the cash into a machine immediately. Thankfully, my mate was nearby and cautioned me that it sounded like a scam. The caller seemed really pushy, insisting I rush to the bank and promising to stick around until I had all the cash ready to go. I ended the conversation, but they keep bombarding me with calls. What a nightmare!

I received a call from this number not long ago. As soon as I answered, an automated voice chimed in, claiming to be from Service Canada and stating that my SIN number had been suspended due to some dubious activities. I swiftly ended the call. I'm convinced this is just a scam.

This morning, I found a missed call from this number. When I rang it back, it appeared to be linked to the Canadian government. It struck me as rather odd, so I ended the call rather abruptly. Prior to this, I did a bit of digging and discovered that it was indeed listed as a government contact from Canada. Quite perplexing, really. I’ve now decided to block the number and activated my settings to prevent calls from unknown numbers.

I recently received a rather suspicious call from this number. It was a pre-recorded voice claiming to be from the government, insisting that my National Insurance Number had been put on hold owing to some alleged fraudulent activity or crime. They urged me to press 1 for more details. Naturally, I opted to hang up rather than engage. Complete and utter scam - such disgraceful behaviour!

I received a rather dodgy call claiming to be from some authority regarding suspicious activity linked to my National Insurance number. They spun an elaborate tale about an ongoing police investigation, trying to con me into transferring my funds to a digital account. It was all quite fraudulent. They even suggested I check the number on Google Maps, which is a classic trick since they’re using a VoIP service to disguise their true identity. My advice? Stay vigilant and don't be fooled by their nonsense!
