I received a notification urging me to ring the number cited above. Assuming it was a legitimate Apple support line, I dialled it, only to find myself speaking with a scam artist - likely from India, if I had to guess. He managed to waste about two hours of my time and extracted all my credit card details. Thankfully, I realised what had happened soon after and promptly blocked my card. The following morning, I reached out to Apple, who helped me sort everything out and recommended that I contact my credit card provider for a refund. In the end, I successfully received my money back. Cheers to Apple for their assistance!

I had a similar experience back on the 12th of March, 2015. Fortunately, I managed to reach out to my bank and credit card provider immediately while my husband dealt with some dodgy hacker on the phone, and we got everything shut down. If I hadn’t acted fast, I dread to think how much of my personal data could have been compromised.

I just got a call from this number, and during that time, my computer was out of action for a little while.
Honestly, these individuals need to be dealt with immediately.
If anyone has any info on their identity or whereabouts, I'd be keen to know!

I experienced precisely the same situation and ended up being duped. Consequently, I now have to trot off to a genuine Apple Store to have my Mac cleaned up.

I can't believe how gullible I've been; it's really frustrating. I feel quite upset about falling for this.

What a shambles! I was duped out of £199.99 back on 21st June 2015 by the same old trick using that level 7 line. Honestly, I feel rather foolish for allowing them to take control of my phone and computer remotely like that. They then slapped me with the charge, and I didn’t realise until it was too late. But rest assured, I’ve tightened my security and they won’t be getting another penny from me. Please, keep your wits about you, as these con artists are lurking about, ready to pounce!

I encountered a bit of a hiccup with my computer, and it set me back a cool £399.99 to get it sorted over the phone. After some sleuthing online, I decided to give the number they provided post-repair another go, and it connected me straight to them. So, as of the 11th of May, 2015, that number is definitely valid!

What a con! I got caught up in the ruse and ended up forking out £130.

Blimey! What a palaver we’ve found ourselves in! We managed to get the screen locked, but then a cheeky pop-up appeared claiming to be an official Apple site, spouting all the same rubbish as mentioned earlier. It's absolutely maddening that we fell for this nonsense! I suppose my only mitigating factor is that I had a bit of an operation yesterday and the anaesthetic is still fogging up my thoughts. Normally, I’d always double-check such things-except this morning, it seems. They’re rather cunning, you see; they offer a local store some 40 miles distant with a £350 fee or a quick online service that promises to fix it in 90 minutes for £299. Why did that not register in my brain? What a pickle!

What a total scam! I received a call from someone with a strong Hindu accent, insisting that my Mac was infested with a virus. They went on about how it would take nearly a week to sort things out at the Apple store, or I could pay £299 for an online fix by a so-called certified technician. It all felt dodgy, and when they pushed for me to do it online, I knew it was time to put an end to it.

This establishment reeks of a scam. My computer was perfectly fine, to begin with!

I was scouring the internet for tips to boost my Mac's performance when I stumbled upon a phone number that disabled my Safari browser. Initially, I presumed it was a legitimate Apple contact and decided to ring it. To my surprise, I was greeted by a chap with a very pronounced accent - I think he was Indian. He informed me that my entire system had been compromised and that I would need a level 8 Apple technician to rectify the situation. The kicker? They provided me with an address that was not an official Apple store. When I queried why it wasn't at a recognised Apple outlet, they claimed that Apple couldn't assist since my network was also allegedly infected, and only they had the solution. That was my red flag right there. Shortly after, they demonstrated a temporary fix for Safari, but it was clear they were trying to sell me the idea of a more permanent solution for a fee.

I've been receiving calls from an international number relentlessly - over five times in the span of just two hours. It's rather aggressive and feels somewhat harassing. I generally don't entertain these types of calls at all.

I received a rather alarming notification on my computer screen, claiming a grave security risk, and directing me to contact a specific number without delay. It turns out this number is associated with Computer Fix, Inc., located at 9550 S Eastern Ave., Suite 253, in Las Vegas, Nevada. I've since lodged a complaint with the FTC regarding their practices. They charged me a hefty £269.99 under the pretense of resolving the issue, but lo and behold, my computer was still unresponsive the following day. I ultimately had to seek help from a local technician who properly cleaned it up and removed the pesky virus.
