My mother tried to ring the Canada Revenue Agency concerning her senior benefits, but inadvertently misdialled and ended up on the line with a place called the 'Medical Alert Center,' supposedly situated in Winnipeg. They rushed through their spiel, offering her a complimentary home unit, and somehow managed to snag her debit card details. They attempted to process a charge on the spot, but it was thwarted by her current financial situation. She was given a number to call back (1-800-555-1212), purportedly their official directory line. Luckily, she mentioned this incident to me before they could access her funds. In my quest to uncover who she had spoken to, I found that this number led to a dead end, but they seem to operate several numbers that closely resemble the main CRA contact line. When I pressed for further information, I was told they don’t have a website and this is their sole directory number-yet I can't find any online trace of them anywhere.

I keep getting calls from this number multiple times a week. I’m based in El Paso, Texas, where the area code is 915. It's rather frustrating as the caller never bothers to leave a voicemail, nor do they respond when I attempt to answer.

I answered the call but remained silent, and on the other side, there was nothing but quiet. Clearly, it was a scam.

I recently dialled an 800 number and was taken aback when I learnt I could qualify for a supposedly "complimentary" home monitoring device. As a senior citizen-along with my partner-I figured, why not? However, once I was on the line, they began probing into our medical history, which I was hesitant to divulge. The representative then attempted to peddle this "free" gadget to me. As soon as I heard the phrase "small monthly fee," my instincts kicked in. I had to remind her that we were seniors, and those so-called "minor charges" can really accumulate over time. I politely declined, but she insisted the number I originally dialed was no longer in operation and proceeded to furnish me with a different number to call. It seemed I was only being funneled into yet another dodgy scheme.

What a cheeky scam! My mother answered the call, and they claimed she had won a hundred quid-press one to claim your prize, they said. Thankfully, she didn’t engage and just hung up, but it made me curious. After a bit of digging, I discovered it's all a ruse. The number even had 'Frontier' plastered on it, which makes it all the more dodgy!

I've received multiple calls from this number, but they never bother to leave a message. I even tried ringing them back a couple of times, but it just directs me to the AT&T assistance line. Seems pretty suspicious to me and certainly doesn’t relate to this number. It’s quite irritating, to be honest, and I really wish they’d just quit it with the calls.

I received a call on my mobile, and to my surprise, it was a pre-recorded voice stating, "As a cherished customer, we appreciate your loyalty and you’ve been chosen to receive a £100 voucher to spend at various shops like Tesco." They then presented a choice to press 1 to claim the voucher or 5 to opt out of their communications. I wonder if you can guess which digit I pressed? Absolutely not keen on this nonsense!
