9 yearsI had a rather peculiar conversation with a chap who had a rather thick accent and struggled with his English. He informed me that I'd been granted approval for a loan of £3000, involving monthly payments of £136 over two years. The catch? I was instructed to pop down to Walmart, purchase a £50 iTunes gift card, scratch it off, and then ring back the 16-digit code to settle a fee for a money transfer that was supposedly to arrive in a mere 15 minutes. He introduced himself as Ray Martin, if you can believe it!WalmartRay Martin9 yearsReceiving calls from this number regularly, about once or twice daily, has been rather irritating. On answering, there's no response when I greet them. Initially, they seemed harmless but then the person started mentioning something about the call being recorded, which honestly didn’t faze me in the slightest. I’m left wondering what they actually want - is it some sort of cash or perhaps they’re after someone named Mindy? I made it clear that I’m not interested and promptly ended the call. Quite tiresome, really!Mindy10 yearsI receive calls from this number relentlessly, practically every hour. Yet, each time I answer, nobody seems to be there. Once, they tried to convince me to let them access my phone for some programming nonsense. Clearly a bunch of fraudsters!10 yearsI've been inundated with calls-about six times a day, no less! It's infuriating because when I actually bother to answer, there's nobody on the other end. So annoying!10 yearsI'm inundated with calls, sometimes as many as six in a single day! When I finally managed to get someone on the line, I inquired about why they were bothering me, considering that I thought Safelink was meant to be a lifeline for those in need, courtesy of the government. It felt a bit off that they seemed to be meddling in matters regarding the less privileged. The chap on the other end was polite enough, thanked me, and then promptly ended the call! - Connie DemecsBower, 16th May 2016.SafelinkConnie DemecsBower11 yearsThese folks offer complimentary phone time and more besides!11 yearsI found this note stuffed in my letterbox the other day. It reads: “GUIDE TO OBTAINING A REPLACEMENT PHONE For assistance, dial the toll-free number 1-800-378-1684. Select option 1 for English, or option 2 if you prefer Spanish. Option 4 addresses any service-related issues, while option 6 is for other questions. You’ll need to provide your mobile number, after which you’ll be connected to a representative. This is the complete level of assistance a SafeLink Field Agent can provide for securing a replacement phone.”SafeLink11 yearsThis number keeps ringing me multiple times a day, but when I pick up, there's nothing but silence before they disconnect. Quite odd behaviour, I must say!11 yearsWhat was the reason for cutting the call short?11 yearsRinging me multiple times throughout the day; it's rather annoying. Every time I pick up, the call goes silent and they hang up.11 yearsI receive calls from this number every single day, but as soon as I pick up, they just cut off.12 yearsI keep receiving calls from this number nearly every day, with someone trying to get me to share details so they can "set up my phone." The thing is, my phone isn’t even one of those smartphones you can fiddle around with-it’s an old TracFone, and not particularly fancy at that. The frequency of these calls seems off, almost as if this is a phantom number masquerading as an actual business. When I do pick up and mention I've already spoken to someone who claimed all my issues were sorted, the chap on the line appears utterly bemused. Quite the dodgy situation, if you ask me!TracFone12 yearsI keep receiving calls from this number, and they hang up each time.
